Syllabus

Plan of the class

This class meets Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. The material fails roughly in to two categories: Algebra and Trigonometry. In this session we will cover the two parts concurrently: algebra on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Trigonometry on Mondays.

Grades

Your grade in this class will be determined as follows: There will be several quizzes (approximately one every other class), both in-class and take-home, two in-class midterms, taking a whole session each, and a final exam. The quizzes count cumulatively for 20% of your grade, the midterms count cumulatively for 40% and the final exam counts for the remaining 40%. In sum:

However, in order to pass the class it is required that you receive a passing grade in the final. Class participation and homework can earn extra credit. Homework will be assigned after every class.

Tutoring lab

Tutoring help for all math classes is available at the Department's Tutoring Lab. They are located in CP 303 and are open 11–3 and 4–8 Monday to Thursday and 11–2 Friday and Saturday.
