This is being used in references a number of Japanese related articles, seemingly from the descriptions to host translations of Japanese sources,.but all examples of it I’ve tried lead to malware – the 'download flash plugin' sort. The references were added quite a while ago, so it’s not a problem of editor misbehaviour but the site being hijacked or abandoned and taken over.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 19:46, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

awardsandwinners.com

COIBot results unfortunately suboptimal in this case, but please see the related discussion at WP:RSN#Awardsandwinners. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 00:27, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

breakthroughpsychologyprogram.com

Added by multiple IP addresses and one user (likely on a deleted spam page). The refspam links advertized products. —PaleoNeonate – 09:26, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

Spam on Venom_(2018_film) page by Kangbahar1

Diff between 860623647 860632181

First time reporting such obvious spam, not sure how to do it properly. http://boldmovies.top/movie/335983/venom.html definitely doesn't sound like anything legit

@KH-1: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. (do you mind to next time directly report reports like this one to WP:SBL? I tend to not check all on this page normally as these are often mere reports that are not yet actionable, it may take days before I go through them, if at all). --Dirk Beetstra T C 06:32, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Yep, will do. -KH-1 (talk) 06:33, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

sleepassociation.org

Added by many users/address on sleep related articles. Not an official medical association and users that promoted it often also promoted other links to gadgets and pharmaceuticals. For more context please see this AfD, this old spam report and the previous COIBot report from ten years ago. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 07:03, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Update: mainspace links removed, except at James Maas and HuffPost where they seemed relevant. —PaleoNeonate – 17:24, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
Yes definitely concerning. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:23, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

@PaleoNeonate and Doc James: (my script killed my comment ..) An IP has been warned several times in the past (and had articles deleted). Now we have a slower spamming other IP, where my only conclusion can be that it is an IP related to the same organisation (or even another SEO working for the same organisation). --Dirk Beetstra T C 07:00, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Yes, most probably... Thank you for blacklisting, —PaleoNeonate – 11:58, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

Pawsey18 is stale, Chakrabracelet was indefinitely blocked, but more recently the above IP addresses have also spammed this link in a few articles. —PaleoNeonate – 19:48, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

@PaleoNeonate: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. PaleoNeonate, can you report such spam that is of no use and obviously spammed by multiple users to multiple editors to WT:SBL immediately. I tend to treat reports here as 'for the record', and 'if it recurs again, we will have to take other measures', not necessarily as directly blacklistable material. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:42, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
@Beetstra: Yes of course. It wasn't clear to me why there were both blacklist submission pages as well as this one; which of the BLs to submit to, etc; so I assumed posting here was ideal and that blacklist maintainers would decide. But I'm starting to have a pretty good idea now and will only post here when unsure. Thanks again, —PaleoNeonate – 12:58, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
Adding: maybe that updating/adding a note at the top of the page with more information would be a good idea, eventually... —PaleoNeonate – 13:01, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
