WP:REFSPAM, almost certainly a WP:COI, and adding links to sites with copyright violations. Looks like he was doing this with powerfulmma.com [2] and switched to deprivationtank.com. Anxietyaction.com and powerfulmma.com have been taken down, but their whois info is still available showing they were run by the same person. Deprivationtank.com whois information is hidden. The inappropriate use of mahasati.org seems unrelated to the coi/refspam problems. --Ronz (talk) 22:36, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

The domain is a scraper site e.g. ([http://www.jada.ada.nutrientbook.com/content/1767.aspx] was scraped from [5]) and is hence pure spam. MER-C 07:54, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

Mocavo

User User:Elshrimpbucket has added new citations into many articles which reference digitised out-of-print books held by the Mocavo family-history website. It may be that he is doing nothing wrong. Perhaps someone who knows more about spam rules could check this out. I am talking to him on User_talk:Elshrimpbucket. Here (ref. 1) is an example of a citation via Mocavo. Has anybody looked at this? AWhiteC (talk) 21:22, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
Given how this page is mainly used, you may be able to get better discussion on the value of added links at WP:ELN. Sorry I didn't respond sooner; I have had limited internet access recently. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:43, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
OK, I will follow up in WP:ELN. AWhiteC (talk) 19:17, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
Very few of his links are ELs; they are primarily to sources. For the most part, the sources are reliable. The issue is one of WP:COI and spamming his own company. Not recommended. 69.183.116.200 (talk) 17:33, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

ad page linked to ponzi scheme

Hello,

I have been investigating an investment proposal by a company named Pacific Tycoon and found out that they created or paid someone to add this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shipping_Investments

The first external link brings to a low quality comparison site where not surprisingly they are number 1:

http://shippingcontainerinvestments.com/shipping-investment-comparisons

That domain has been registered with whois privacy so it is indeed suspicious.

The company hired people to delete all bad comments and do a bit of SEO, but they could no remove goverment warnings such as the French one:

http://www.amf-france.org/en_US/Epargne-Info-Service/Mise-en-garde/Par-date.html?isSearch=true&xtmc=pacific-tycoon&lastSearchPage=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amf-france.org%2FmagnoliaPublic%2Famf%2Fen_US%2FResultat-de-recherche.html%3FTEXT%3Dpacific%26%2343%3Btycoon%26LANGUAGE%3Den%26valid_recherche%3DOK%26isSearch%3Dtrue%26simpleSearch%3Dtrue&docVersion=1.0&docId=workspace%3A%2F%2FSpacesStore%2Fd86f3caf-3882-4469-b678-43f642b73519&xtcr=1

gov-usa.us and w5lar.org

Recently I've noticed new registered users adding links to these two websites. They are replacing dead links used as references with archived versions of the webpages hosted on these two sites. At first glance this seems constructive, but I find something suspicious about it. All the links are being added by new accounts that make a few edits and then disappear. This seems to be an attempt to avoid scrutiny. Also, the main pages of these two websites appear deceptive. They appear to be trying to mimic official US government websites. Can someone else have a look and give a second opinion? Deli nk (talk) 12:01, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

Seems to be the same MO as the nutrientbook spammers (see above). Both are mirror sites that imitate the actual government page [6][7]-SFK2 (talk) 12:13, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

The above IP address has repeatedly added links to the "GM Recall Survivors" Facebook page to the article 2014 General Motors recall, even though XLinkBot promptly removes it after they do so. This seems to be a clear example of WP:LINKSPAM, which is why I am posting it here for your consideration. Jinkinson talk to me 23:21, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

voipfone.co.uk

Spammers
Other contributing editors to Voipfone, not spammers in general

Royal0043

One of the references mentioned in the Acrobits Softphone were changed from brighthub.com to voipfone.co.uk on 17/09/2012 by editor Royal0043. The previous edition 16/09/2012 shows two references to the article, but none related to voipfone.co.uk. The article was created on 14/09/2012 by Royal0043 without the mention of Voipfone.co.uk. Voipfone is not a third party reference source, and it looks like Royal0043 used a bait and switch technique in this tactic. The current article stands only with on voipfone.co.uk as it's only independent third party source and it's only reference. Not wikipedia material and the article should considered for spam consignment.

Royal0043 also added references to voipfone.co.uk to Acrobits article on 17/09/2012, the previous edition on 14/09/2012 did not mention voipfone.co.uk as a third party reference source.

VoIP_Guru_2011

VoIP Guru 2011 added a bunch of promotional material on 23/04/2013 in a series of edits starting on 21/04/2013, but failed to provide referenced sources to the edits, and adding self promoting material such as awards, which considered spam and not acceptable.

VoIP_GeeK The article added has been subject to WP:SPAM and WP:CV in within the last year, and within months of going down to a article stub. Other editors [WP:COI] within the [Voipfone] company will come in and restore the previous information, as it was done on 22/10/2011 by VoIP GeeK. The editor mentioned only made two edits, so there could be WP:COI with the company. The previous information was removed on 06/10/2011 by Popcornduff, which was an acceptable article.

The article was corrected on 08/10/2013 by Barek, the editor did a fine job removing all the promotional and self promoting material.

Voceditenore

Voceditenore decided to do some disruptive editing, and restored previous removed promotional material on 11/03/2014. This disruptive editing was based on the mere fact that the article was in the AfD debate was nominated by Simon161388. The nominator also has his article up for AfD debate when he nominated Voipfone article. Simon161388 also quickly requested a Speedy delete per G7 of his article, after being cited for Sockpuppetry in vote stacking deletion of Voipfone, by creating Sock Puppet Jake748596. The disruptive editing stopped on 18/03/2014 after a consensus voted it as a keep.

With the disruptive behaviour of both Simon161388 and Voceditenore, it makes me wonder if the consensus was tainted, and the keep vote was not legitimate.

The promotional material added by Voceditenore was removed on 07/04/2014 by CorporateM.

There was a recent Deletion Review conducted by me to determine if there are cartel of paid editors protecting Voipfone from deletion. The article was endorsed by RoySmith, the endorsements were based on previous keep votes that were tainted by disruptive editing.

One of the keep votes was done by DGG who wrote "Problems with the article have now been fixed. I'm not known for extending any favor to spam, but this is not spam. Straightforward article on notable company." voted on 04:36, 18 March 2014 (UTC). Which the vote was based on 13/04/2014 edition of the article, not the current Voipfone article. In additon of voting on disruptive promotional editing by Voceditenore. In additon to the vote DGG also nominated Simon161388 Blue Penguins Article for an Afd debate citing "All the sources seem to either be about VOIP in general, or about the 0700 numbering scheme. Most are from many years ago, and none seem to mention the company" talk about WP:COI in voting.

A paid cartel of editors was braught up by Simon161388 in the Jimbo Wales Paid Advocacy FAQ discussion.

So far I have no such claim to Simon161388 claim, but I have found such long history of editoral abuse on the Voipfone article.

There has been a persistent case of spamming since the article was formed from many IPs and users. There is a partial list of recent editors IPs, User accounts, and actions taken listed above.

The main spam concern is the content in the website voipfone.co.uk, but also in the past Voipfone article had shown some overlap in spam material from the website into the article mentioned by Martin451.

Besides this voipfone.co.uk does not meet WP:GNG. All but a few of the 50+ articles that come up are press releases and the few that are not only have a sentence or two mentioning the company. Some commercial organisations may meet Wikipedia notability guidelines but care must be taken in determining if they are truly notable or whether they are an attempt at using Wikipedia for free advertising from all two websites voipfone.co.uk and acrobits.cz.

By blacklisting voipfone.co.uk and acrobits.cz will likely cover ever future editorial abuse from reoccurring.

There is a presence of voipfone.co.uk links in the following articles listed, and acrobits.cz in the first two articles listed.

Acrobits

Acrobits Softphone

Voipfone

Which conststiutes some form of cross link spamming from voipfone.co.uk, a article ban of Voipfone, and voipfone.co.uk should be considered to prevent anymore editoral abuse.

209.172.25.166 (talk) 02:38, 23 April 2014 (UTC) 209.172.25.166 (talk) 03:04, 23 April 2014 (UTC) made some small typos

Voipfone has its own history and I don't think its connected with the others. The Acrobits articles, on the other hand, definitely appear to be a ring of promotion authored by User:Royal0043. Just listed some of them at AfD. ThemFromSpace 18:18, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
