This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Music. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Music|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- Note that there are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove links to other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Music.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NALBUM. This was previously redirected and has recently been recreated, but I am still struggling to find evidence of notability here. There are some reliable sources, but the problem is that they are interviews and therefore fail WP:PRIMARY – all the quotes and descriptions of the album are from McCartney himself, and the only real independent information you can get from them is "his new album which is coming soon after a seven-year break has 11 songs about his fiancee, and it was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic". Which doesn't really need an entire article to say, and doesn't provide any notability for the album, it's just a description. To be completely fair here, I found another RS which is not used in the article [1]... but again, it's another interview with almost nothing noteworthy to be extracted from it. The Entertainment Tonight interview is from two years before the album and doesn't mention it at all, and Euphoria doesn't look like an RS to me – no evidence of an editorial team, and it appears to be an "anyone can contribute" website like Medium. No reviews, no chart positions, and nothing about the album at all after its release, apart from tour dates... all we have are these promotional interviews. Richard3120 (talk) 20:16, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

- SPEEDY KEEP: I'm curious how someone who someone hasn't been active on WP suddenly pops ups after four years of silence to nominate this BLP for deletion and throwing around accusations that I'm a paid editor and causing a stir about my editing behavior too. BTW, this BLP isn't promotional like they're saying over at WP:COIN. Feels like some undercover agents got activated once I started calling out Pakistani UPEs. I feel like this should be WP:SK because I'm not buying the editor's intentions. --—Saqib (talk I contribs) 21:02, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Saqib I noticed that you made a comment that didn't seem very civil. You acted like you owned the page, which makes me think that you and Aanuarif have an unreported financial interest in promoting Waqar Zaka, Editors do not own articles and stop attacking other editors based on your assupusons, it will not save the article, as you defended in second nomation here There is ongoing discussion on COIN about this, Regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. So let it be reviewed by the community.
- And the nature of your edits look you may have conflicts of interest, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Lkomdis (talk) 05:40, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Here's something to think about if I had a COI and was getting paid by Zaka as you claim, why would I remove all the PROMO stuff about him? Instead, I'm adding STUFF that might not make him happy. Anyone can check the page history to see if I'm the one who added the PROMO or the one who deleted it. And BTW, since you mentioned @Aanuarif, if you had bothered to check their tp, you wouldn't be saying what you're saying. Absolutely baffling. - how in the world does Zaka think he could pay me to scrub his PROMO from his own BLP. —Saqib (talk I contribs) 06:28, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

- Comment @Saqib as the user responsible for 50+% of the article text, do you want to comment on the specific issue of notability? It does seem there's not much there other than interviews which are typically disregarded (or nearly so) in notability discussions. In terms of independent content I'm looking at the Samaa article about a trading contest, and the article about him being arrested for cannabis, but not much else.Personally I think it will in most cases be uncivil to make COI/UPI/Sock allegations at talk pages (and none are made here). It seems very appropriate to make them at the COI noticeboard. Similarly, there's an instance of seeking guidance from an administrator about your editing, which seems to be good faith even if it might feel like an attack. The last diff ostensibly has nothing to do with @Lkomdis. If you are suggesting this meets speedy keep because it's brought for improper purposes, that could border on uncivil as well. Oblivy (talk) 03:59, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- The subject absolutely fits the bill as a Creative professional. How so? Well, he was the force behind some seriously popular Pakistani TV shows like Champions with Waqar Zaka, XPOSED, Living on the Edge (Sabse Himmat Wala Kon?), King of Street Magic, Desi Kudiyan, The Cricket Challenge and Video On Trial - just to name a few. Even though these shows might not have their own WP articles but they have definitely received coverage from various RS. HERALD's states
Zaka started his television career in the early 2000s and gained recognition as the host and director of Pakistan’s first adventure/dare game show, Living On The Edge. Other shows he is recognised for, and sometimes ridiculed, include XPOSED, Desi Kuriyan and Video On Trial.
And this HERALD's piece statesIts host and director was Waqar Zaka who has carved a name for himself in the genre.
HERALD was a highly reputable and esteemed Pakistani publication. I'm confident others would concur + He's recently co-produced a film called Babylicious and lately, he has jumped into the cryptocurrency and is getting loads of press. Sure, some of it might be paid to make him look like a crypto genius. On one occasion, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appointed him as an expert (when he's not) in its advisory committee but it does suggest he's getting attention in this field too. Recently, he was accused of involvement in crypto fraud as well. So if you're not seeing much press coverage on him, you might wanna check out DAWN, The Express Tribune, Daily Times, The News The Nation and so on - all those are legit RS and they've got plenty to say about him - both positive and negative. Additionally, there is abundant coverage of the subject in Urdu language sources but I feel it's not appropriate to consider them here as we're on English WP and thus should prioritize English language sources. —Saqib (talk I contribs) 06:10, 9 May 2024 (UTC)- Thanks for the reply. It would seem odd if brief career summaries in newspaper articles, like the Herald article, demonstrated he is an important figure for WP:CREATIVE. The rest of the mentions in the Herald article are based on an interview. And press coverage about crypto or legal troubles doesn't go anywhere towards satisfying creative professionals (although it might show WP:GNG if he's assessed under another standard).I haven't been through all the search results you pasted in but it seems like quite a bit is either self-promoting (something you acknowledge is a risk here) or based on legal troubles. Could you provide the three sources you think best demonstrate notability? I just don't know enough to vote but I've got an open mind. Oblivy (talk) 07:37, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Just wanted to clarify that those Herald stories weren't provided to establish WP:GNG. They were just there to show Zaka was the brains behind those TV shows and the shows themselves got press coverage from RS so as per WP:CREATIVE, he's in the clear. Take Champions for example. It got so popular - even if for all the wrong reasons- that it got banned by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority. And for Living on the Edge, he says India straight-up copied it for MTV Roadies. According to the Express Tribune (the local partner of The New York Times), this show had a solid eight-season run and was a major cash cow for the channel. According to the same Express Tribune, Zala has a cult following thanks to his TV shows. And then there's his film production Babylicious, which got a bunch of reviews as well. Meanwhile, If you check the links I provided previously, you'll see he's been in the press way more than our average Pakistani actor. Sure, some of it might be paid, but there's plenty of legit coverage too. I could pull out the top three examples if you want, but honestly, we don't even need to argue about WP:GNG. WP:CREATIVE's got our back here. —Saqib (talk I contribs) 09:46, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not going to trawl through your searches to figure out what you think is going to help this article pass
GNGnotability. So far I've seen a bunch of "this guy is a legend and we interviewed him" articles but based on that I'm not inclined to vote up or down. Oblivy (talk) 16:16, 9 May 2024 (UTC) - I don't think merely being the presenter of a TV show counts as "creating or playing a major role in co-creating" a significant work. Otherwise we'd consider every actor starring in a TV show to be a "co-creator" and we wouldn't need NACTOR. And being one of several producers of a film isn't really sufficient either -- it's made pretty clear in the linked source that the major creative force was the director. I think you will need to establish GNG to have case for notability. JoelleJay (talk) 00:10, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

- Keep - I'm not really a wiki editor, so please bear with me if I'm drawing the wrong conclusions here. I came across this deletion discussion by accident after I noticed that the link to Chassalla is not active in the article about the label Eisenberg https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisenberg_(music label) because the Chassalla article was deleted from Wikipedia. I'm from the same region as this band and I'm involved in the local gothic scene, so I know a lot about them.
- First of all, you have to understand that Mark Hessburg was mainly musically active until the mid-90s and, as you quickly find out if you do a little googling, he later concentrated on film sound and game development after moving to Berlin.
- There are inevitably no online articles from the period in which he was active as a musician, not even their record company SPV had an online presence at that time, as you can find out via the Internet Archive. As far as I know, there were only tours in the time before the last album. So there was no reason why there should have been any media articles about it in the 21st century.
- As has already been mentioned here, Wikipedia was a completely different place at the time the article was posted than it is today. This also explains the lack of sources in the article.
- He is also listed in the German National Library under the name Chassalla with a reference to the real name Mark Hessburg: https://d-nb.info/gnd/134828038
- So I would suggest that the article on Mark Hessburg should be merged with the content of the deleted article on Chassalla. According to the guideline “Members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability.” - In this case, perhaps only the other way around, as Mark Hessburg's creative field of activity obviously extends far beyond just music. However, musical creation alone is sufficient according to several points mentioned in the notability criteria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles
- I cannot judge this for his other fields of activity, but there is also a lot to be found online.
- But now to sources regarding notability:
- Point 1 definitely applies:
- Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself
- HNA - Hessisch Niedersächsische Allgemeine 29. October 1996 Page 10 – Review of the Album "Phoenix out of the ashes" https://www.meinehna.de/abo/content/archiv (paid)
- Online you can also find this review as PDF, from the magazine EB/METRONOM No. 42 - March/April 1993 page 57: http://subkultur-ost.de/EB-Metronom%2042-93%20(Koeln)%20Fanzine%20%60931.pdf
- I also remember that there were several reviews in magazines, among others in the most important medium of the scene “Zillo”, but I only have one review in the probably second most important magazine “Orkus Musik Magazin” September 1996 page 44 with the review of the album “Phoenix out of the ashes”.
- Considering that the last album came out 28 years ago and the genre is a subculture that is nowhere near as popular and important today as it was in the early 1990s, I find it amazing that you can still find something internationally, even if only on some webzines or online marketplaces where the used CDs are sold, but it clearly shows that the project had definitely achieved a relevant, international level of awareness at the time. e.g. here:

- You also find used CDs of him worldwide on eBay.
- Point 5 also seems to apply:
- Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable).
- The debut album is available in the German National Library. The entry shows that the CD was released on the Apollyon Rekordings label, a sub-label of Apollyon (90 records released) and was distributed via EFA Medien (A huge company with more than 10,000 records released)
- From this link https://d-nb.info/353035785 and the archived Chassalla website from 1999 (under “History”) https://web.archive.org/web/19991007024618/http://www.hessburg.de/chassalla/index.html it is also clear that the project is not a band in the classic sense, but rather a solo project in which different musicians have probably worked together time and again, as on the second album.
- https://www.discogs.com/de/label/25914-Apollyon?page=1
- https://www.discogs.com/de/label/2444-EFA?page=1
- Mark Hessburg's second album was released by Oblivion, a sub-label (250 titles released) of SPV GmbH (one of the largest independent record labels in the world, with more than 13,000 albums released). It was released by Eisenberg / Warner-Chappell Music and produced by Eisenberg's owner Carlos Perón, a founding member of the famous band Yello. https://subculturerecords.bandcamp.com/album/phoenix-out-of-the-ashes-remastered
- https://www.discogs.com/de/label/96109-SPV-GmbH?page=1
- In addition, material by Mark Hessburg has been released on various compilations by well-known labels such as ZYX or the compilation label “Double Power” by Sony Music, together with world-famous artists such as Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Alan Parsons, Klaus Schulze, Ofra Haza.

- Point 6 also seems to apply:
- Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles.
- He also wrote a popular track for the 1994 album Intimacy by the Canadian wave/synthy pop band Psyche and performed with them at several concerts. The band was extremely successful in the scene, especially in the late 80s and early 90s, and as Anne Clark's support band they also became a name to audiences outside the scene.
- Johannes Häusler, who was involved in the Chassalla project, was also a member of Psyche. Another musician, Christian Rossbach, was later a member of Madre del Vizio. A well-known italo gothic rock band https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madre_del_Vizio
- Point 7 possibly applies:
- Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.
- In the early 90s, Chassalla was one of the few music projects from this scene in the greater Kassel area and was mentioned several times in the local media such as HNA and Infotip. Of course, this only exists on paper in old publications and not online.
- As for the rest of his career:
- Almost all the sound design projects listed here are well-known in Germany and from the major TV channels. https://www.crew-united.com/de/Mark-Hessburg_285998.html on IMDB you can also find international titles such as Paris Hilton's Simple Life or Om Shanti Om with Shah Rukh Khan.
- So the claim to work as a sound designer is also proven.
- If you make the effort, you will also find out that he ran the Green-Hill Studio in Kassel https://green-hill.de with the later producer of the famous German rapper Prinz Pi. You have to combine these three sources

This disambiguation page is redundant of Sonata in B minor, which was originally at this title before a page move. The redirect was then reverted. The two sonatas listed here are already covered at Sonata in B minor (a broader disambiguation page). Additionally, one of the sonatas listed here (Sonata in B minor (Atterberg)) is only a partial-title match because it is generically for strings, not solely for violin. I propose restoring the redirect. I am also nominating the following page for redirecting as well since it is also redundant:

- Comment Didn’t want to substantially rewrite what is here, since that’s a big change, but the added sources and the general coverage of the issue indicate that “Nuyorican rap” is interchangeable with “Nuyorican hip-hop.” This might be worth noticing in the body of the article, and is definitely worth keeping in mind when looking for other sources to continue improving this article. “Nuyorican rap” didn’t return as many solid sources as “Nuyorican hip-hop,” possibly due to the fact that the apex of the genre was the late 90’s, early ‘00’s, when hip-hop was a more commonly used term. - Delete: fails WP:GNG, WP:ORGCRIT and WP:ORGDEPTH. The only thing that can be verfied is that this was a venue in Fern Park, Florida – everything else is original research by the article creator. Setlist.fm fails WP:USERG and is not a reliable source, and for some reason a picture of a T-shirt with the venue's logo is considered evidence of notability. - Delete The fact she has been seen on multiple movies which has a wikipedia page doesn't qualify her to have a wikipedia page. This is just like the case of Lucy Grantham (2nd nomination). - The Courier-Journal article wasn't routine, and by what sources we have, Hassan was in these films, noting that the sourcing of the related film articles was light (thus my 'Weak Keep'). I suspect however that her appearance in some of them was exaggerated to make it appear she was a lead when she wasn't. Stefen Towers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 16:52, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- Delete as no evidence of any notability, The Courier-Journal is great however unfortunately it's no where near enough to establish notability, Not sure if her roles have been major or minor but either way I cannot find any evidence of any notability, Fails NACTOR and GNG. –Davey2010Talk 15:50, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

The person has had significant roles in multiple notable films
which I can't see reflected here. —Saqib (talk I contribs) 17:01, 9 May 2024 (UTC)- The "Partial filmography" in the article links to five notable films (currently adjudged by Wikipedia) and I suppose it's our opinion as to whether her roles were significant in them. - It's hard to say whether she fails NACTOR #1 but personally I would say she does and despite the The Courier-Journal link imho she still fails #2 too, FWIW all of her roles could've been one-bit/minor roles so article linkage doesn't mean anything here, (and leading on to your last point nicely) There's just not enough info to determine whether she meets NACTOR #1 or not but either way I would obviously say she still fails #2, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 17:30, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- In NACTOR, it says #1 or #2. The subject doesn't have to meet both criteria to pass it. I accept that we would need to judge whether the roles are significant but as it was difficult, source-wise, to drill down on these films, I don't want to rush to judgment, thus my "Weak Keep". I still say the key here is to look at the film articles and see if they should be kept. Stefen Towers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 17:38, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- I've checked the articles and their sources as well as looked online - The Gold Bracelet is just about notable with the rest not being notable so imho one notable film and one notable paper cite is still not enough irrespective of what role she played, I guess the article can be redirected to The Gold Bracelet if really desired,
