Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Armenia-Azerbaijan border crisis - extremely suspicious activity of this article talk page by two users, Grandmaster and Aredoros. I was participating in this discussion recently. Grandmaster agreed with the OP (18:43, 21 April 2024) and suggested OP to open a requested move, "You may start a WP:RM on the proposed name". While I was actively opposing the OP's suggestion [1], [2], and nobody challenged my last comment for the record.

9 days later, Aredoros, who never edited in the article or its talk page, also "agreed" with the OP (10:32, 30 April 2024) like Grandmaster, just below their comment. And Grandmaster, less than 20 minutes later, opens the RM themselves that they suggested to the OP 9 days prior. Aredoros then just 4 minutes after that, "supports" the Move. Aredoros, who again never edited in the article prior, also "agreed" with Grandmaster in another thread of the same article talk [3] (this time the thread was opened by Grandmaster himself), to which now Grandmaster responds with "agreeing" less than 20 minutes later.

And this is just one article talk page, extremely suspicious activity and timings especially are extremely suspicious. These looks very much like meatpuppetry or sockpuppetry to me especially the strange timings of these all "agreements". The interaction analysis shows that they edit some obscure articles and even outside that, for example, warn the same user of WP:GS/AA restriction (Aredoros#1, Grandmaster#1, Aredoros#2), or welcome/warn another same exact user (Grandmaster, Aredoros). I opened this SPI after advising an admin; the admin didn’t have interest/time to look in depth so I opened this SPI for clerks/admins who do. In regard to the AE and the other SPI Grandmaster mentions; Grandmaster, who never commented in that SPI before despite the SPI being up since 18 March 2024, only commented there in late April and a day later after the AE was closed (“retaliatory” much?), and now desperately tries to keep it alive despite the clerks being ready to close. Whereas I only opened this SPI after noticing the extremely suspicious activity of Grandmaster/Aredoros and contacting an admin for advice; if I were doing anything “retaliatory” like Grandmaster accuses me of, I would’ve acted like Grandmaster did shorty after escaping the AE.
And Grandmaster/Aredoros behavior is indeed extremely suspicious despite what Grandmasters claims, particularly when it comes to the timings, and here's why: these numerous “agreements” don’t just happen out of the blue minutes apart especially when one of the editors (Aredoros) has never even edited in the article before. In regard to the suspicious warnings of the same users; yes I just noticed one of the user’s welcomed by Grandmaster was in 2006 (same user Aredoros warned), but that doesn’t explain the other instance of exact same warnings to the same user (Aredoros#1, Grandmaster#1, Aredoros#2). In light of all the evidence, it does look like that Grandmaster/Aredoros are either sockpuppets or meatpuppets. Vanezi (talk) 10:54, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This looks like forum shopping and retaliatory filing. Vanezi has recently reported me to WP:AE, and the report was dismissed: [4], and now he reported me here. Vanezi is himself a subject to SPI investigation: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KhndzorUtogh, where I also commented. Regarding this report, I had very little interaction with Aredoros87 who is reported here, and it was probably the only time that I had any communication with him on the same talk page. People commenting minutes from each other is not unusual, sometimes even edit conflicts happen. And the interaction tool shows that most our edits on the same pages are years or even over a decade apart. For example, my welcome message and the other user's message are 17 years apart :) I left a welcome message back in 2006, and the other user commented this year. [5], [6] How this is a proof of sockpuppetry is beyond me. Over 18 years of my editing, I contributed to almost every Azerbaijan related page, so anyone editing an Azerbaijan related page is likely to see that I edited that article at some point. Again, nothing strange with different users giving warnings to the same user. Vanezi's own talk page contains warnings from different users. Grandmaster 12:51, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
