Bob (Animal Crossing)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep Ankha and Audie, delete Bob. Jay 💬 15:48, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target. QuicoleJR (talk) 20:32, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep for Ankha, Neutral on the other two. I've restored the entry for Ankha to the list - it was deleted in 2021 as it included an (unsourced) note explaining why the character is well-known in certain communities. Tevildo (talk) 11:49, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep for Ankha as the subject of a quasi-notable internet meme, Delete for the others. Morgan695 (talk) 15:45, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Ankha as it now has a mention at the target and receives pageviews every day. Delete the other two as they receive virtually no pageviews and are not notable enough for inclusion at the target. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 17:43, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: it appears that Quicole has added and sourced an entry for Audie at the target page on August 30th. Utopes (talk / cont) 23:43, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Audie and Ankha. I'm unsure which version of the article that everyone has seen, but for me only Audie and Ankha are mentioned at the target page. Of these two, Audie has received significant coverage as a character due to her being an easter-egg of a popular elderly fan of the series; she was specifically reported on by IGN and GamesRadar (which these sources have been added to the article), and I think a redirect is appropriate to have. Ankha also has an entry on the target page, but her blurb is completely unsourced at the time of writing (although I'm sure there are sources that can be found for her). As for Bob, Bob has a better-than-most chance at being notable compared to other animal crossing characters, but he is not currently mentioned, so delete for now. Not a helpful redirect. QuicoleJR (talk) 15:51, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep per WP:CHEAP: it points to the unambiguous correct target, and has existed since 2006. However, it gets used incredibly rarely and has no incoming local links, so deletion also probably wouldn't break anything. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:09, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete WP:PANDORA. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 11:57, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to point out that if you're typing the search bar, the software pretty much ignores capital letters. CENTIPEDE, you'll note, does not exits, but the search graciously redirects you to Centipede if you use the search bar. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 12:33, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have to have Javascript enabled for that to work, which means you must be using a device capable of interpreting Javascript. We can't assume that all readers do. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 14:25, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 12:31, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - as noted above, it's functionally useless, and the all-caps has no particular purpose to the subject as far as recognizability or anything either. Sergecross73 msg me 18:21, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete None of the entries on the disambiguation page have any clear affinity for all caps. * Pppery * it has begun... 01:58, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable fictional character who does not appear on the list. QuicoleJR (talk) 15:46, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - this character does not appear to have been on the list even before the significant paring-down that's happened over the last few months. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:05, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - per above, and it not particularly being a likely search term either due to the disambiguation needed. Sergecross73 msg me 18:23, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Very unlikely search term. QuicoleJR (talk) 15:41, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I couldn't find the word "hunt" at the target so I don't know what this is supposed to mean. Seems like an unlikely query, and no information at the target anyway. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:00, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Minor characters in Kirby: Right Back at Ya![edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

There are only major characters in the target, and this redirect is worded in a way that makes it an unlikely search term. QuicoleJR (talk) 14:52, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note - I boldly merged these two related nominations, as the outcome of discussion is pretty clearly going to apply to both. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:48, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep - the target does in fact have a list of characters in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! specifically; the distinction between major and minor characters seems subjective, but it's reasonable to expect minor characters to be excluded from such a list. Still, a reader looking for a list of minor characters specifically won't find it on Wikipedia, and the targeted list is all we have. It might be disappointing, but not surprising. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:58, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Although I wonder if Kirby: Right Back at Ya!#Characters is a better target? It seems like many of the characters formerly listed at the original target are now listed on this page instead, but I still don't know where the distinction is between major and minor characters. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:04, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete extremely unlikely search terms, zero incoming links, pageviews in the single digits per year. This is leftover pagemove detritus. Redirects are cheap, but not free. Legitimately unused redirects don't belong. Axem Titanium (talk) 04:34, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect should be delete (cf. WP:R3) because it's a bad redirect created by mistake (this typos was copied from Burdeau Bridge Building before correction in this page) : Burdeau is a proper noun, without "s": the good redirect is Immeuble-pont Burdeau Artvill (talk) 13:31, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I would have allowed the R3 request, but since it was declined twice, here we are. The name of the structure is the "Burdeau Bridge-Building", or Immeuble-pont Burdeau in the local French. "Burdeau" is taken from the name of the ravine it spans. There aren't multiples of them, and even if there were this is not how things are pluralized in French. Adding an "s" at the end is not a plausible error, in the same way that Tour Eiffels or Fleuve Saint-Laurents would not be plausible errors. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:50, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I agree with both contributors that it should be deleted since it's an obvious mistake. Riad Salih (talk) 18:58, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: clear mistake and unlikely search term. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 17:35, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete due to utter lack of notability. This character is not (and will not) be listed on this page. TNstingray (talk) 12:47, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - the character's only mention on Wikipedia is in a role list on Shakira Barrera mentioning that the actor played the role in the pilot episode of Ahsoka (TV series), in which the character is also not mentioned. From other sources it seems that the character appeared on-screen just long enough to be killed. A background character that gets killed off in the pilot of a spin-off of a spin-off of what's already a deep dive into the Star Wars universe is very very far into WP:IINFO territory. Even the character's page on Wookieepedia has practically no information. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:40, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Not mentioned in target. QuicoleJR (talk) 17:28, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rules as Written[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 20:40, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This (along with Rules as Intended) was originally mentioned in the lead of this article, but I have removed it - it was not mentioned anywhere in the article, and including tabletop role-playing games in an article on law would probably be WP:UNDUE in any case. I propose deleting, as this term is is not mentioned at the tabletop role-playing game article. GnocchiFan (talk) 22:30, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep The capitalization is a bit odd, but it should be kept for the same reasons as for why "Rules as written and intended" (further up) should be kept. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 23:27, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • ReTarget to Role-playing_game_terms#R_3. If a section or article somewhere is written about it, then we can worry about retargeting at that point. - jc37 20:18, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - while the exact phrase(s) might not appear at the current target, I can't see how it's not the right discussion for these terms to link to. The terms are certainly more broad than the narrow use in TTRPGs. A link to the role-playing game terms list could be added to the legal article's see also section, which already has links to quite a few similar topics. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:54, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep for the same reasons as those that I gave in the RfD for Rules as written and intended. James500 (talk) 00:59, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above, but I reckon in this instance a hatnote is warranted for these three queries to the RPG term – it's not really a clear primary topic. J947edits 02:08, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Disambiguate (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 20:48, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we have a good target for this. The broad topic article of Medicine never mentions medical products, and while my first thought was to target Medication, there are other products aside from medication within medicine (Medical device has the same problem). I would call R#D10 here, or maybe a set index (doesn't really work as a DAB); seems like there'd be potential for an article too, but a redirect feels too narrow. I think this is some in-joke but I see no connection between Daniel Razon and this group. Also, the redirect creator created a number of questionable pages and is currently blocked. Liz Read! Talk! 05:16, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
