The subfamily is more than one genus GRM 14:09, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • This seems like an appropriate redirect, unless/until the subfamily gets its own article. — Swpbtalk.edits 15:53, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agreed. If/when a drill-down is appropriate, the redirect can be overwritten. In the meantime, better this redirect than leaving the reader with a redlink. Rossami (talk) 05:14, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BiannualAnnual[edit]

The result of the debate was create a soft redirect to the wikitonary page Phoenix-wiki (talk · contribs) 22:23, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not the same and Annual page does not discuss other periods 84.203.60.211 15:44, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirects do not have to link to synonyms. It is unlikely "biannual" will ever be its own article; this is the most appropriate target for it. See below. — Swpbtalk.edits 15:54, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't see any real value to this redirect. I agree that "biannual" is highly unlikely ever to have it's own article but pointing it to the "Annual" disambiguation page seems a bit confusing. There are only a few inbound links and none of them imply any special meaning other than the obvious. To me, the best answer seems to be overwrite with a soft redirect to the Wiktionary definition page. Rossami (talk) 05:14, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Biennial? --SB_Johnny | talk 15:19, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • No - different meaning. Biannual means twice a year, biennial means every two years. Rossami (talk)
      • Actually, biannual can mean both twice a year and once every two years. 71.88.109.183 16:01, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Rossami's soft redirect plan. — Swpbtalk.edits 17:24, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Incidentally, Semiannual and Triennial point to the same place and have the same problems. Whatever decision is made for "biannual" should also be applied to these redirects. I'm tagging them with the related RfD tag now. Rossami (talk) 19:54, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
