The sad history[edit]

In the waning days of the American Culture War, Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedians for Decency was formed. Wikipedia rapidly became a battleground of the war, as Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedians against censorship became a rallying point for the opposition. The epic struggle between Decentites and WACkos led to one of the most titanic MfD discussions ever.

In the midst of the battle, tragedy struck and the timeline became bifurcated. One scarred veteran discovered that the Wikipedia rules allowed for a MfD of a MfD. In our Wikiverse, the attempt to initiate recursion failed. But in another world, the battles intensified sevenfold, as each attempt at deletion was strongly countered by either faction. The conflict spilled over into user and talk pages as Ragnarok erupted across Wikipedia. It was the first time the Kingdom of Wikipedia was temporarily turned into a nondeterministic quantum computer of consisting solely of MfD voting activity.

As MfD piled upon MfD, Wikipedia collapsed upon itself in a argumentative singularity. MfD for MfD for MfD for MfD for MfD for MfD for MfD for MfD for MfD for WikiProject Wikipedians for Decency was the last page edited before the Wikipedia namespace collapsed beyond the Chandrasekhar-Britannica encyclopedic event horizon. Thereafter, Wikipedia could no longer be accessed from its parent wikiverse. Although most people simply believe that the WP servers crashed, some have hypothesized [1] that a new Big Bang of content was created in an inaccessible bubble beyond our logical continuum. We can only hope that the foolish behavior of Wikipedians in that dismal wikiverse has contributed to a new creation in the panwikiverse. In the meantime, the sad story of (MfD)^9 WP WfD serves as a cautionary tale for those who disrupt the Wikipeace.
