Your close at The Color of Crime[edit]

Hi Toadette, I wanted to drop you a note to see if you’d consider reverting your close and re-listing at Talk:The_Color_of_Crime_(book)#Requested_move_2_May_2024. The requested move was first posted May 2 so it was technically old enough to be eligible for closure, but if you look more closely at the timestamps, it was posted to two different wikiprojects at 2:20 May 9, and all of the discussion happened very shortly after that. I think Wikiexplorationandhelping ought to have re-listed it when notifying wikiprojects. If you’d consider re-opening it, I have some responses I’d like to make to Camerone Dewe’s argument (which pushed me to an oppose), and I think it’s possible that more participants from the wikiprojects will want to weigh in. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 18:08, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi LEvalyn! I haven't recognise the closure, it should have been relisted. ToadetteEdit! 01:07, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What's going on with Moriori Enslavement[edit]

Hello. I wanna know do I have to do more with the Moriori Enslavement article? I thought I would've gotten a notification about it by now. I51iM (talk) 16:11, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Hi @I51iM, you need to click the blue resubmit button in the decline notice to submit it for review. S0091 (talk) 16:21, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I resubmitted. I51iM (talk) 16:40, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi I51iM! Sorry for the late reply, but it looks like you do not have more to do. You have resubmitted for another reviewer to give his thoughts on the article. ToadetteEdit! 01:07, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Samuel Richards (Ironmaster)[edit]

Hello! I noticed that my Wiki page was declined for lack of reliable sources. I just wanted to ask if there were certain sources I listed that were inadequate? All be it, many of the sources I had are from a book on the said individual, that has not been made available online by the publisher, however it is a very reliable resource.

Thank you!

~~~~Decifix Decifix (talk) 00:11, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Decifix! Sorry for the late reply. I've specifically declined it because there are some statements that are unsourced, in contrary to the verification policy. It doesn't matter whether the sources have to be online, but I suggest that you put the page numbers the the book when citing a statement. Once you are sure that most statements are ready, you can click on the blue button to resubmit the draft for review. Hope that helps! ToadetteEdit! 11:38, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Request on 20:41:24, 11 May 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by Eisbergsk[edit]
Eisbergsk (talk) 20:41, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your reply. I will continue to update all the sources I can to archive locations. Our local library just finished archiving all of the Regina Leader Post newspapers from 1909. Because I don't know, I have to ask - if I cannot find an archive location, where do I post the jpeg of the source? Do I create a gallery in my article itself? Sorry, such a newbie! Once I finish updating the sources that I can, did you mean you want me to post the remaining links in here for you? Again, sorry, such a newbie. Again, thank you so very much for your help. Eisbergsk (talk) 20:41, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Eisbergsk! Sorry for the late reply. You can cite the jpeg as if you are citing a source, and cite it at the end of the relevant statement. Creating a gallery is optional, you can upload the images you want to upload to Wikimedia Commons but please be sure to follow the relevant policies there. I do not mean to have you to post all the source for evaluation whether they are reliable or not. It's up to your choice. Hope that helps! ToadetteEdit! 11:34, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Review[edit]
Hello, could you review the Draft:Battle of Samtredia article, as well as some other drafts (Draft:Battle of Gochouri, Draft:Battle of Akhaltsikhe (1444), Draft:Siege of Shamkor)? Thank you.
Hi ip, I will review it soon, if they are still unreviewed. ToadetteEdit! 01:07, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:David Gamage[edit]
Dear ToadetteEdit,
I do not understand why you declined this submission on May 6, 2024. Your post says "In summary, the draft needs to meet any of the eight academic-specific criteria" the fifth criteria of which is "The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon." The first line of the bio explains clearly that the subject currently has a distinguished professor appointment, and, additionally, the first line under "Professional and Academic Career" documents clearly that the subject has held multiple named chair appointments. This would seem to be dispositive, more than meeting the criteria under the guidelines.
Additionally, the subject's top rankings in citation and SSRN metrics would seem to easily satisfy the first criterion of "The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources."
I did not create this profile, but I did edit it and I am a student in the field and so have some expertise. I will revise the profile some and resubmit. But I would appreciate it if you could please explain to me if I am somehow misunderstanding the criteria or whether your decision was an oversight or whether the profile somehow did not convey the information in the proper way.
Thank you! JDtoBee (talk) 19:15, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JDtoBee! I apologize that I have mistakened my action. I hadn't paid attention to the criteria. This should have been accepted. ToadetteEdit! 00:54, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thanks! JDtoBee (talk) 17:46, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could I ask for your help on this article please? In response to your denial, I reorganized the content to make clear how the criteria were met, and this seems to have resulted in other editors having concerns about the article being unbiased, and removing the acceptance and back to draft. I am not biased and do not have a conflict of interest. If you could please review the draft article again and let me know how I could improve it for acceptance and removing concerns I would be very appreciative. Thanks! JDtoBee (talk) 20:24, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JDtoBee don't WP:FORUMSHOP to get someone to review the draft. There's WP:NODEADLINE, you have resubmitted the draft so someone will review in time and there's a discussion on the draft's talk page. S0091 (talk) 21:06, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it is forum shopping to ask for advice and review from someone who had previously reviewed the article and communicated with me about it. JDtoBee (talk) 21:13, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I may review it, but I have to go to sleep now. Also, I may be busier than before so please wait. I appreciate your patience. ToadetteEdit! 22:11, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am so confused with the matter right now. I've declined the draft as needing more sources to establish notability and it hasn't been shown yet. It was accepted three days ago only for it to be challenged and ultimately draftified. I do not have any issues with the draft post-draftification but after looking at the draft's talk page and your talk page, and claiming that you have no relation with the subject and an expert in the topic area feels that the conflict of interests may be escalated to sanctions. I do not see you as having a conflict of interest but I will look onto your contributions shortly to find that did you exclusively edited the draft (let aside talk pages) or not. ToadetteEdit! 22:29, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JDtoBee, you are in fact forum shopping, although as a new editor that may not be clear. Please let the review process unfold naturally. Publishing an article on WP is not a race to a hypothetical finish line, it is a process, and because WP is an encyclopedia, there are various steps in the process and procedures. Please also understand that Toadette is a knowledgeable reviewer, AND she is, like 99.9% of the editors here is a volunteer (so am I). It's not our "job" to review things on demand. Please be patient, there are no deadlines on wikipedia. Netherzone (talk) 22:30, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Colin William Wyatt[edit]
Hello, ToadetteEdit. You have new messages at User1's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
.
Hello. The template tells me to click 'new section' but I do not see a tab 'new section'. I replied to your message on my talk page. I did not realise I had to alert you here to the fact I had done so. I would be grateful for clarification and further advice. Also you or another has changed the title of this draft submission from Colin William fforde Wyatt to Colin William Wyatt. Is this to identify the second draft submission? Because this would be an incorrect title for a final version. I would prefer to use the simple "Colin Wyatt". I only began with the subject's full name because of another Colin Wyatt. Thank you. IonaFyne (talk) 15:25, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @IonaFyne! The article was moved per policy on article titles, that articles on subjects should be titled based on commonly recognizable names documented by reliable sources. As for the decline, if it is because it is "not adequately supported by reliable sources", then I found some passages unsourced. If the decline was about notability, I would advise you to read the notability guideline, especially those on people. If you are referring to I only began with the subject's full name because of another Colin Wyatt, then I suggest that it would be disambiguated. Hope that helps! Review of Draft: Bryan Leach[edit]
Hi friend! Several weeks ago, the draft for Bryan Leach was declined due to the references not showing that the subject qualifies for page. I updated the draft to include some more complete information based on comments from other editors and also added some more extensive sources like the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance and NY Times. The company which Bryan Leach founded went public last month and there has been more coverage with additional details. Would you be kind enough to take a look and see if this has satisfied the bar for a new page. Thanks so much! Flyguyz93 (talk) 16:34, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Flyguyz93! I have specifically declined as some statements were unsourced, contrary to the verification policy. But as I could remember, it should have been accepted as I've mistakenly declined it. My apologies but it may be accepted. Hope that helps! ToadetteEdit! 00:51, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ToadetteEditThis is great news! Would you go back and complete the approval process on that draft or is there something I need to do? Flyguyz93 (talk) 12:34, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You moved the entire freakin' project forward inadvertently[edit]
The Where We've Never Gone Before Barnstar(field)
You knew from the beginning the RfA would fail. Your RfA process inadvertently created an unexpected issue which the community will be forced to prevent from happening again. For your courageous and reckless decision to run for sysop after closing your own failed test, I give you this hard to define (but invaluable) barnstar. May you live long and prosper, Toadette.
I failed an RfA badly myself once. Your edits and your energy since the failed run are quite good. You seem a more serious wikipedian. Good for all of us! BusterD (talk) 16:59, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
