Doubt

Hi, can you add the Music Rank Extra Awards to the voices of the awards and recognitions of K-pop artists? Ghostintears (talk) 08:42, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

@Ghostintears: Hi. Does the awards show have significant coverage and is it notable enough per WP:N? It could be added once there are reliable secondary sources that are independent. --Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 14:44, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
@Ashleyyoursmile: here are the sources: https://musicrank.wixsite.com/vote Ghostintears (talk) 22:19, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
@Ghostintears: This might not work, its better to try looking for newspaper or magazine sources. --Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 09:12, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
@Ashleyyoursmile: I put it on the YouTube channel of the Award. More relevant like this :) Ghostintears (talk) 09:34, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
@Ghostintears: Would you mind helping me with a file? I didn't know who else to ask. I want to know how I might be able to use an existing image file from the Black Swan (film) page on the music video section of the "Black Swan (song)" page but I don't know how to. Thanks. --Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 15:09, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

"format" in song infoboxes

The format parameter in infoboxes was deemed unnecessary by consensus and removed from the template earlier this week hence Mal Arken's removal of it, and then subsequent undoing of your restoration earlier today. Just in case you didn't know. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 20:45, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Carlobunnie, thanks for showing me this. This could prevent further edit warring. --Ashleyyoursmile! 06:06, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
Carlobunnie, an editor recently added an audio sample of "Dynamite" to the article's page. The song has been out for like 3 days. Don't you think it is a bit early to add the snippet now? I don't know if samples could be added immediately after a single release. Plus the sample is of 30-seconds, which exceeds 10% of the original length. --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:23, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
@Ashleyyoursmile: I just saw it and yeah I'm thinking it's really early to add it so quickly. Can't recall seeing any documentation on how long before an audio clip can be added but if it were me I wouldn't include it so soon. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 05:27, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
Carlobunnie, should we just revert the edit and leave an appropriate edit summary? --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:31, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
I don't see why not. It's possible he was pre-empting you asking him to do it later on when you eventually aim for GA like you did with Black Swan+Lights. I think the revert + clear explanation would be fine. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 05:34, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
Carlobunnie, I see. Maybe that's actually the case. I'm reverting the edit then. --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

DYK for DNA (BTS song)

On 29 August 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article DNA (BTS song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the lyrics of BTS's song "DNA" compares love to a mathematical formula and divine providence? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/DNA (BTS song). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, DNA (BTS song)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

A barnstar for you!

The Music Barnstar
For improving a lot of BTS related articles to GA-status and your work on music related topics. — The Most Comfortable Chair 11:04, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
The Most Comfortable Chair, thank you so much for this. I saw that you have passed the GAN. Many thanks even though a concern pointed out by you about the timeline thing hadn't been actually addressed. I shall try to fix it in the meantime. Apologies if I've kept you waiting. Do keep up with more GA reviews. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 13:42, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
No problem at all. I felt it was unfair to hold promoting a well-written article such as that over one minor point. Keep up the good work! — The Most Comfortable Chair 14:21, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

GA Review

Hello,

I am once again honoured to be reviewing one of your articles, though a user said that I seem to use too much verbiage during reviews. From your experience, do you agree or feel as if I give feedback where it is fully needed? Don't feel afraid to be honest, since I am open to constructive criticism. --K. Peake 07:38, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Kyle Peake, hi! Thank you for taking up this review. Apologies for getting back late. Honestly you were the first user to do a GA review for me and I haven't felt that the changes suggested by you so far have been superfluous. Please continue with your good work around Wikipedia. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 13:47, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
It is fine since we all take our time off; thanks for telling me how you feel and I will get round to starting the review tonight! --K. Peake 16:06, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
I have made my initial comments now and will do some more tomorrow and maybe afterwards, depending on what's in my schedule. Have a great day and it's always a pleasure to collaborate! --K. Peake 18:56, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Fake Love (BTS song) GA Nomination

Hey Ashleyyoursmile. I'm sure you know that the bot is broken and is not notifying nominators on a GA status. I thought that I would let you know that I have reviewed your GA nomination of Fake Love (BTS song). Hope to see your responses soon! LOVI33 01:49, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

LOVI33 hi! :) I wasn't around here much since I reviewed the GAN for you so I had no idea that the bot was broken. Thank you for taking up the review and notifying me. I shall address the concerns now. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 06:45, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

TO Ashleyyoursmile

Are you Japanese? The singer is not japanese and songwriters is not japanese. Why did you change the original album cover to Japanese cover? I think the explanation of the song you changed is not about the artist and the song, but about Japan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samuraja01 (talkcontribs) 15:30, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Samuraja01, first of all when you visit an editor's talk page, you should leave your message at the bottom of the page and not the top. Regarding your question, it shouldn't concern you in the least if I'm Japanese or not for that matter. What matters here is that the song (I presume you are talking about "DNA" here) was released in two separate languages- Korean and Japanese. While the Korean version serves as the "lead single" of Love Yourself: Her (assuming you know what lead single refers to), it was released simultaneously with it's parent album and hence doesn't have a separate "cover"; which is precisely why we have used the cover of the Japanese single album for "DNA" that also happens to includes the singles, "Mic Drop" and "Crystal Snow". No one is going to change that, because that's correct and will remain so. From your edit history, I can gather that you are new here, and you need time to go through other similar articles instead of going ahead and making changes which you think are correct. Also, the singers might not be Japanese, or the songwriters for that matter- however they have recorded the song in that language is what is important here. That too, it's a single. If you have further questions, feel free to visit the Wikipedia:Teahouse. They'd probably best know how to help you around here. Last advice, next time make sure to sign off your posts using four tildes like I've done. Cheers! --Ashleyyoursmile! 15:48, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Any Song

Hi there. First of all I wanted to apologize for mixing up the nominations for Any Song. It was actually nominated for Song of the Year and Best HipHop & Urban Music and not Best Collaboration. Thank you for correcting my mistake. I will be more careful in the future. :) EN-Jungwon (talk) 08:30, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

EN-Jungwon, its okay, I just corrected and added the Hip-hop nomination to it, but we really don't need a table here, as its just two noms from the same awarding body which could well be written out in prose. Since its a GA, we have to be extra careful of the MOS. Cheers, --Ashleyyoursmile! 08:34, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

EN-Jungwon, its a fandom/blog. Hence unreliable. --Ashleyyoursmile! 10:48, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
