History (web series)[edit]

“History” is a scripted web series that explores the relationships, friendships and the sexual and gender politics of young gay men in New York City. It can be streamed for free via YouTube and Vimeo at www.historywebseries.com.[1]

Summary[edit]

“History” follows Jamie (Jack Tracy), a thirty-something gay New York lawyer, in the days after a messy breakup with his partner of five years, Jared (Andrew Lipson). Through flashbacks, the audience watches Jamie’s evolution—or lack thereof—on issues of intimacy, sex, gender role conformity and friendships as he rebuilds his life on his own terms.

Jack Tracy (Jamie, Pennsylvania State University Class of ’05, Seton Hall University School of Law of ‘10) was executive producer, writer, director and lead actor in the dramedy, which was loosely based on his own personal experiences. He has a B.A. in Theatre with a specialization in dramaturgy and script analysis from Pennsylvania State University. Wayne State University Alumnus, Frank Leone, was also a producer. Frank wrote the musical comedy web series “In Retrospect,” which was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the 2016 Indie Series Awards.

Cast[edit]

The cast was chosen from a talented and diverse pool of New York actors. William Cohen (William) is graduate of NYU with a major in vocal performance. Jacob Seidman (Matthew) most recently performed on Carnival and Holland America cruise lines. Trent Stone (Ted) has appeared in numerous stage productions, as well as television and film; his most recent being the feature "The Killer in the House". Robert Maitner (Gio) recently originated the role of “Les” in the Off-Broadway production of "A Better Place" at the Duke Theater. “History” also welcomed Andrew Lipson (Jared) and introduced Bianca Lyn (Bianca) and Carissa Fales (Catherine) in their web debuts. The supporting cast included: Pierre Coker; Andrew Holder; Aidan Kinney; Robert Lima; Mike Longo; Miguel Lopez; Scott Mandel; Anna Bella Michelino; Cameron Moir; Misha Osherovich; Chad Peterson; John Pigate; and Kevin Stevens.
