Hi Phantomsteve, Just checking in if the additional references provided for the "Singapore International Energy Week" Wiki entry are ok? Feel free to let me know if there is anything that I can help.

My apologies for the delay, Matthew! I was busy, and then I forgot all about it!
I have now used some of the latest references to cite facts in the article (plus adding a couple of new facts). I didn't use all of them, as some of them just verified information in the article which had already been referenced.
I have tidied up the references a bit - each of the sources is used at least once, but each 'fact' has only one reference each, not up to 3 as I previously had there!
Thank you for you patience. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 00:24, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Difference between reference work and a directory[edit]

Wikipedia is a reference work, not a trade directory. As such, our articles are generally ordered in a historical arrangement, from the beginnings of the subject to the present day. Our articles about events start with the creation of the event, then proceed through the various iterations to the present day. A trade show directory and the like will often begin with the current or upcoming version of an event, then (if at all) mention prior iterations. (Similarly, our biographies start with the background of the person, and proceed through their events and accomplishments, rather than concentrating solely on the subject's most notable work or event.) I hope this makes things a little clearer. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:54, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Incidentally, when you have read a message which a talkback has been left for (like the one above this), you can remove the talkback from your page! I have taken the liberty of removing my old talkbacks here! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 07:13, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
