List of recordings[edit]

Here is where I got the list of recordings that I mentioned in the edit comment: [1]. Its a vendor catalogue. Generally, I'm not a fan of these sections unless there is something notable to mention about the performances (that is, its not just a vendor catalogue). Plus, the section doesn't scale up for more popular pieces (175 ways you can buy the R&J Overture, 95 ways you can buy Marche Slave, etc) we'd need full discography pages for every piece in the standard repertoire and vendor catalogues are pretty easy to find (arkivmusic sorts by composer/conductor etc).

But for this particular piece, since there's only 6 or 7 recordings in print and I'm not primarily a Tchaikovsky editor, then if editors here really want a full list included, then go ahead and I won't contest it. Cheers.DavidRF (talk) 14:49, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Influence of Rubinstein[edit]

According to The Life and Letters of Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky the work was in fact assigned by Rubinstein for his pupil to do over the summer in question. 24.59.59.86 (talk) 15:56, 10 March 2016 (UTC) (forgot to log in, sorry)[reply]
