Death date[edit]

In this article it is written that his death date was March 24, 1654. However, his dateh also apper in the year 1653. Does someone has other references to his death date? Thanks, WhatWasDone (talk) 13:56, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Both the 1980 Grove and the recent Grove online articles have 1654, as does Slonimsky. 1653 must be a mistake; I corrected it there. Thanks, Antandrus (talk) 14:07, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's also the complication of the Julian calendar: March 24 Old style = April 3 New style. German WP for some inscrutable reason gives a baptism date of 4 Nov. (14 O.S.), with a footnote that MGG (fewer but heavier volumes than NG!) says 3 Nov. Sparafucil (talk) 23:17, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
