Nice article, but needs citations! Bordering on start and B-classes, so I have been generous! Another adition we might want to add is a cultural section, as the firth of clyde is very influental to the people living on this coastline! Franko2nd 16:18, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing sentence in the lede[edit]

I have no idea what this means . . 'In Scottish Gaelic the landward end is called Linne Chluaidh (pronounced [ˈʎiɲə ˈxlˠ̪uəj]; meaning the same as the English)'. Can someone clarify? Geopersona (talk) 07:37, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. It has nothing to do with the Firth, this para needs compacting, with nonsense removed. 2A00:23C6:CE0F:6D01:9DC1:474A:572E:531E (talk) 2A00:23C6:CE0F:6D01:9DC1:474A:572E:531E (talk) 19:16, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Remove para about Gaelic from geography section as does seem that relevant. It should be deleted in my view. but placed near top of article for now. 2A00:23C6:CE0F:6D01:9DC1:474A:572E:531E (talk) 2A00:23C6:CE0F:6D01:9DC1:474A:572E:531E (talk) 20:35, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Width of firth at the estuary and depth.[edit]

I really do not believe the firth is 25 miles wide at the river Clyde estuary!!! References? It is also wider than 25 miles where it joins the Irish Sea.

Where is the firth 164 metres deep? That is 538 feet! References?

See below link:-

https://www.gov.scot/publications/scottish-marine-freshwater-science-volume-3-number-3-clyde-ecosystem/pages/3/

"Max depth of 114 meters".

Irish Sea, Firth of Clyde boundary, has been "defined from the southerly tip of the Mull of Kintyre to Corsewall Point" in Galloway.

Ardlamont Peninsula, removed from peninsula list?[edit]

Ardlamont peninsula removed from list, even though I had provided a ref?

Have added again but under Cowal peninsula. Should be listed under own name.

Not a great ref, but a ref. Can only use what you can find!
