When I firsst created this article they mocked me and said that this was a non-notable flame war... They deleted it. I always say that the most unintelligible people have the most important jobs. --Spartacus Marat (talk) 19:49, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the following message from my talkpage to the article talk so that it gets commented upon by other editors as well. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:11, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dr.K.! Concerning the removing of MP Christos Pappas current situation, I wanted to make sure that you understand that this information is all over the news about "Elder Pastitsios". I put one source for it (by most prestigious To Vima newspaper) but I can provide numerous if this is the problem. The media feel that is important to point out that the man who started this legal battle is now in jail himself with a much heavier charge. --Protnet (talk) 10:35, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The disputed edit concerns the parenthetical addition below (bolded):

Four days before the page creator's arrest, MP Christos Pappas from the neo-nazi[8][9] Golden Dawn party (who, one year later, on October 3, 2013, was charged for the "forming of criminal organisation" and is being detained in custidy ever since as part of a government crackdown on Golden Dawn[10][11]) had brought the page to the attention of the Minister of Justice by raising a question to the Greek Parliament on September 17.[12][13]

Hi Protnet. As I wrote in my edit-summary when I removed this information from the article, what happened to the Golden Dawn MP, on an unrelated matter, a year after he brought the question of Elder Pastitsios to the Greek Parliament is totally irrelevant. That this MP was arrested a year later because the Greek State decided to crack down on his political party is completely irrelevant to the subject of this article and therefore should not be included in it. The media feel that is important to point out that the man who started this legal battle is now in jail himself with a much heavier charge. What the media feel is not Wikipedia's concern. In this case, the priorities and concerns of the media, when they link these two unrelated matters and are trying to sensationalise these two unrelated issues to sell more papers, are not encyclopedic. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and as such only relevant information should be added in its articles. I hope this helps. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:11, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I just think though that is not completely irrelevant because it gives the readers a more global picture of the background of censorship in Greece, who is behind it, who is affiliated with whom etc. That's why I've included another small detail, that "the prosecutor had recommended a smaller sentence". Anyway, these are all facts. Why not let readers draw their own conclusions? --Protnet (talk) 17:38, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The detail the prosecutor had recommended a smaller sentence, which you added, has remained in the article because it is relevant. But if facts are unrelated they should not be included. The arrest of the Golden Dawn MP is a matter concerning the politics of Greece and is not related in any way to the topic of Elder Pastitsios. The MP was not arrested, a year later, because he brought the Pastitsios question to Parliament, but because he was an MP of Golden Dawn which was deemed to be a "criminal organisation" by the Greek state. I just think though that is not completely irrelevant because it gives the readers a more global picture of the background of censorship in Greece, who is behind it, who is affiliated with whom etc. I don't think any global picture of the state of censorship in Greece is attained by adding that the MP was arrested because of the Golden Dawn crackdown. A political arrest is only broadly connected to censorship and it is still irrelevant to the subject of this article. It may be relevant for the subject of censorship in Greece and could be added to that article, if it were reliably referenced that it is connected to that subject.
