Unrelenting spammers. tgeorgescu (talk) 14:22, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's worth noting that this site is currently used on 22 pages, and we have a Taylor Marshall page about the author of the site. I doubt this would meet WP:RS criteria for anything, though if it is blacklisted it will need to be whitelisted for the subject's page. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:46, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

bollywoodsociety.com[edit]

Scrapper site being spammed, likely hosts copyright violations as well. Also see the discussion at WT:ICTF § COI-proxy user in Puli film article. Tayi Arajakate Talk 11:33, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Several of those links were added by Anish1121; might be good-faith referencing (they've added a variety of links to various sites), or could be stealth spamming. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:42, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

helium.com[edit]

This domain was understandably blacklisted 11 years ago because it hosted a paid content farm full of anti-RS. The domain has been sold since then, and no longer hosts any of that content. It is now the corporate web site of a wireless network / cryptocurrency:[1][2][3][4][5][6] My only COI is that I read about it, but couldn't find info on WP about it, so I did a little googling, figured it was notable, and started a draft article... but I couldn't link to its official site because of the blacklisting. Notable or not, the domain no longer needs to be listed, because the original reason is gone. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 16:22, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@JasonAQuest: minus Removed from MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. Note that registration was in 1997, but the registration was updated in 2020. Content is not what it was 11 years ago. --Dirk Beetstra T C 04:10, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

leads4needs.com and codeexampler.com[edit]

This one is a two-fer, the same sockfarm is involved in spamming both domains. See also SPI case. - MrOllie (talk) 17:30, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ourcommons.ca[edit]

Can't locate on blacklist, however I am unable to add it as a source. It is an official Government of Canada website and there is no reason why it should be blocked. Hcoder3104☭ (💬) 17:17, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's getting caught by a broad regex for petition sites (\bpetition(?:online|s)?\b.*).  Defer to Whitelist OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:25, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hcoder3104: no Declined. Sites for petitions, fundraising etc. are blanket blacklisted. Sentences like 'Give money to support my production of <whatever> by clicking [here]', or 'Support us in stopping the government bombing <whereever> by voting for our petiton [here]' were common (we even have had whitelist requests bluntly statng that they need the money/support) - so yes, it includes the government websites for petitioning the (local) government (see WP:SOAPBOX). Moreover, (open) fundraisers and petitions are only suitable as primary sources for the current number of votes / current received amount of money (pure primary sourcing). Many of these petitions / fundraisers are not noteworthy (there is no-one independent of the peition/fundraiser talking about it). The, few, exceptions can be whitelisted:  Defer to Whitelist. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:57, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User:BeetstraThat's not what that is. It is a government source that details what petitions are in the House of Commons. It's not promoting them. Hcoder3104☭ (💬) 14:08, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hcoder3104: Citing from the front page “If you wish to put forward an e-petition that is not identical or substantially the same as one already open for signature, you may start a new one.” … it is exactly that, so the public can petition the government. newsunzip.com[edit]

Very clearly a spammy MFA website that does not add any real value beyond recycling spun content. Reported consistently for hosting copyrighted content, see: https://transparencyreport.google.com/copyright/domains/newsunzip.com?hl=en and https://support.google.com/news/publisher-center/thread/142830530/how-come-this-website-https-www-newsunzip-com-is-appearing-in-google-news?hl=en

englishtivi.com[edit]

Persistent, ignores talk page warnings. IP range is narrow but busy, a block would cause a lot of collateral damage. - MrOllie (talk) 19:24, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

rc24.xyz[edit]

I am not able to find this url on the blacklist, however, when using this url in an article it gets flagged, I assume because of the xyz extension in the name. This url is a first-party source on an article I am currently writing a draft on. This site does not contain false information, unreliable sources, or unbalanced reception as far as I can tell, I request that this url be unblocked.— Preceding unsigned comment added by PerryPerryD (talkcontribs)

@PerryPerryD: no Declined,  Defer to Whitelist, everything on the .xyz TLD is blacklisted. Please be a bit more specific there (which article, what specific link, what information, etc.). And please have the draft ready - we don't tend to whitelist for drafts that do not end up in mainspace anyway. --Dirk Beetstra T C 04:01, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

mrskin.com[edit]

Online website cataloging nude scenes in film and television since 1999. Has a significant cultural presence including a featured storyline in the movie Knocked Up, referenced on Family Guy, SNL, Howard Stern and more. Blacklisted for alleged harassment, no evidence found of this.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Adultawards (talkcontribs)

Details of the harassment can be found here.  Defer to Whitelist OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:24, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thank you. Looks like it was one person going rogue on one page. I believe that editor and article should continue to be blacklisted, but the site mrskin.com should be taken off the blacklist. Adultawards (talk) 17:16, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do think the site has valuable data that could be referenced. There are many celebrity interviews like GWAR, Diane Franklin, Rena Riffel, and research like number of nude scenes per season in Game of Thrones etc. I read the history of when it was added to the blacklist and it seems like an editor who has since been banned referenced the site, but I don’t think that is enough reason to blacklist the entire site for 12 years. Is it possible for the whole site to be removed from the ban, and only that one old editor/page continue to be permanently protected. Adultawards (talk) 13:07, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not convinced that mrskin would qualify as a useful, reliable source for much here; for any sorts of awards, we could easy find other sources. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:14, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

therailwaycentre.com[edit]

Hijacked website and malware. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_UK_Railways#therailwaycentre.com_appears_to_be_dead_and_taken_over. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 16:22, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is used 250+ times as a reference. Is there a bot or some autmagic way to mark all of those with {{Dead link}} - or whatever the equivalent is for usurped? --10mmsocket (talk) 16:31, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This was reported to WP:URLREQ. I will usurped the domain on enwki. If it's blacklisted, my bot is blocked and I can't do the usurpation work. Usually blacklisting is not required unless there is someone actively adding links. Typically it's a domain that expired and someone took it over, not actually editing Wikipedia, just riding the existing links. -- GreenC 21:47, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, what GreenC said. Web.archive.org uses long form only so if its blacklisted the links cant be fixed. Rlink2 (talk) 22:41, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
