Dorota Pomykała (born 3 July 1956) is a Polish actress.[1] She made her screen debut appearing in a supporting role in the 1979 historical drama film Ojciec królowej, and had an uncredited part in that year's comedy-drama Provincial Actors directed by Agnieszka Holland. Since then, she appeared in more than 40 motion pictures, and received Poland's Bronze Cross of Merit (1989)[2] and the City of Kraków Award (2023).[3]

Pomykała was born in Świerklaniec, Poland. She graduated from the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków in 1979,[2] and began performing on stage in Kraków and Warsaw. She received the Robert Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Kajs fødselsdag (1990),[4] and the Gdynia Film Festival Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the film Moje miasto (2002). For her leading role in the 2022 drama film Woman On The Roof, she received the Polish Academy Award for Best Actress, the Gydnia Film Festival Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and the Tribeca Festival Award for Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film.[5]
