Just wanted to say a massive thanks for your work on the Election results template. Not only is it a big help for getting some consistency in presentation, but the automatic totalling and percentage calculation has helped identify several errors in the tables (both from editors mistranscribing numbers from sources, and mistakes in the sources themselves) by comparing the automatically-calculated totals/percentages with those given in the original tables/sources. Nomination for deletion of Template:Location map Kingdom of Hungary

From my talk page back in september.

Bugger bugger bugger, I saw a map in the transport museum in budapest we went the other week and it had the lat and long but in pretty much a mercator projection. My missus was more interested with the toy trains so I didn't get a chance to take the measures off it. If it's wrong (as it is) it should be deleted but I am still trying to get the measures right. The thing is it's specifically Kingdom of Hungary, but the more atlases (atli? :) I look at the more different lats and longs I get. And anything one does on Hungarian articles is rather contentious, so it is probably really better deleted. Because people whose great grandfathers were part of the Kingdom of Hungary will say no that's Croatia or Slovakia or Slovenia or Yugoslavia or Jugoslavia or The People's Republic of East Kebab. Since Hungarian politics is very contentious and goes on racist grounds in far more than would be allowed in where I come from, this is better off deleted. (Hint: say Treaty of Trianon to a Hungarian and await results.) Si Trew (talk) 09:36, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I never did get round to this. I took the coords off of file at right, which is very high quality but seems to have an odd idea of where 0 longitude is (it suggests it is east of Paris, but that didn't seem to work). As you suggested, I tried to take well-known points at the edges of the map: Fiume, for example, at south-west. I took very good readings after printing out this map at A0 size and using ruler and compass, my trig is quite good, but I could never get it to fit. Maproom, thanks for the tip. I have written code for generating coefficients for nonlinear projections if I know the functional form. but, the code requires at least as many reference points as there are coefficients. basically a nonlinear least-squares algorithm. the problem here is that other than the reference markings on the side of the map, it's tough to get reference points in the middle. How many do you need in the middle? You get get a reference point near each corner by specifying where the nearest line of (Paris) longitude would cross the nearest line of latitude, and use towns like Szolnok (which Google Earth says is 47°10'N 20°11'E Greenwich) in the middle. Maproom, now that I look at it again, I think we have enough with the two interior intersection points and the points along the edges. the original question was about the image in Template:Location map Kingdom of Hungary which is less clear. for File:Hungary-ethnic_groups.jpg, I think we can make a working location map. thank you again. Just a thought, maybe not very coherent at this time of night. Using an ethnographic map as a location map may, as Si Trew pointed out, be contentious. Will it help if instead I upload to Commons this map? It uses a Ferro meridian, which is no worse than Paris, and shows enough towns such as Szolnok for central reference points. Thanks for pinging me in on this. I know it was a long time ago. User:Maproom, yes I did guess it was the Paris Meridian all that time ago, but that didn't seem quite to fit either. Since then I took something and with Inkscape made a four-colour map (five if you include Lake Balaton as a fifth colour, blue, but could have been made a fourth colour as those that surround it are all in three other colours, it is just more pleasant to have it in blue but not mathematically necessary) and split out all the layers and borders and so on into separate layers on the SVG. I seem to recall I called it Template:Location Map Hungary2 or something – and I emphasise this is not the Kingdom of Hungary but the modern-day Hungary. All I had left to do was get the text labelling right. Searching for "a new look for an old map" was something roughly want some commenter said, may well have been User:Frietjes here but may not have been (a long time ago, just going from memory: and those exact words are what was printed on the front of the first H C Beck fold-up London Underground Diagram (often called "Map"; Beck himself never called it a map: I have good references for this from publications of the London Transport Museum in woodware) of 1933, so I am probably confusing those words with the same sentiment expressed. This is all such a long time ago, I give as hints for those who can search better than I.
On the plus side, by pure coincidence (these are not common around here in Budapest) my local pub has a nice 1898ish German (I think) map of Austria-Hungary; certainly pre-Treaty of Trianon. This is a five or six colour map and I am pretty sure it is in German but I am going from memory, I don't think it's in Hungarian. It would be about 40 by 25 inches (1,020 mm × 640 mm) and I daresay somehow I could get it scanned in, in one of the largescale printers in the town (who I happen to be also on good terms with, for various other reasons) or just take four A3 scans and stitch them with photoshop, assuming that my scanner doesn't distort too much. I am on good terms with the landlord as I have given him my British registration plates and various other British pub memorablia, it is that kind of pub, very much a "local", so I can ask to borrow the map (it's framed) or just go in on a quiet afternoon with a straightedge etc and try to get some measures off that. I think it is not the same as the image is here, though quite similar. As a start shall I get the maker etc, would that help at all, before I do the trig etc off it? I have a very good straightedge and fifty quids worth of setsquare adjustable protractor that I use for technical drawing on my A0 drawing board, it's about 25 inches (640 mm) long on its hypotenuese, which should be enough to measure angles and distances with some kinda veracity, I am not sure of the projection without looking again. Is it worth me taking a look and reporting back, probably will be about UTC+2 Friday tomorrow, else Monday? If you give me some nice trig points "in the middle" I will do my best to give you the readings off of them. File:Hungary_location_map.svg is the one I made the four-colour svg version of. It just needs tidying on the text labels layer if I remember right, I can't remember its name. The computer it was on is long gone. File:Hungary location map2.svg? Something like that. We have File:Hungary location map-2.jpg on Commons, but that's not it, cos it's not four-colour and has labels in Cyrillic, is a jpg not an svg. Perhaps unfortunately it got deleted as unused. I'd need to ask an admin to dredge from about 2009 onwards. Users working on it would have been mostly me and perhaps occasionally the missus, no longer editing at Wikipedia for many a year due to very harsh and undeserved comments after excellent translations of English articles about the Tudors into HU:WP (something she is an expert in, more than I know and I'm bloody English): Her username was/is User:Monkap. OK, the map you included wrongfooted me, this is exactly the map that is nominated (duh!) I was looking at the map you included on the right. No, don't give up on it, I'll try to fix it. It is nearly OK, all the coords and borders and counties etc are done on separate labels and I think it is much better than the boring brown map transcluded via {{Infobox Hungarian settlement}}. We just need to fix the edges and fix the text-label layer for some reason the font doesn't scale properly, I never did work out why, I shall try again. One reason to separate into different layers in a good GIS fashion is so that with a flick of the wrist one can turn off all the labels, turn off e.g. the county borders, make all the counties brown and just fill one particular county in a different colour (for Hungarian county articles) etc etc etc. I hand-edited the XML for the SVG to make it all nice, it's much much nicer than its predecessor for putting into a GIS etc because each county edge and county border and county name etc is labeleed in a very consistent fashion. The underlying SVG is File:Kingdom_of_Hungary_counties-2.svg. The polygons for the borders go actually in a kinda "cogwheel" order so that some going anticlockwise have their boundaries against the others going clockwise, rather in a toothed gearwheel manner, but that was just my pedantry; each county actually has its own borders as it did on the original, but on the original the borders for e.g Budapest to Pest County were a bit different from the borders of Pest County to Budapest, i.e. there was a gap or overlap, which now there is not in "my" version, they have all the coordinates bang on, as I did them all in hand in the XML not with some "snap it roughly to where it looks right" tool. All the bordering points have the same coords but the opposite directions (clockwise or widdershins) which helps the SVG polygon fill get it right without overlap or gap.
I think we should keep it and try to fix the labels and the "fix" coordinates for it. I suppose this was a labour of love but I think it does make it better than what is used in the infobox, it scales except for the text labels and the old one has errors in the border coords that leave gaps or overlaps, it just doesn't seem so at the scale used in infoboxes, as the rendering of the borders and the pushpins for the places are far larger than the errors, at even a large-screen resolution scale. The text labels are fine on my I think 1972 across screen in full view. When I made this I think I had a 1024x768 screen. It's when the labels are all squished they don't scale down properly, and get all scrunched up, I have never quite worked out why. yes, that's correct, it should be in the tools section on the left. it will ask you where to insert the gap, and shift the numbers down for you where necessary, stopping when it reaches another gap or the end of the infobox. if there is more than one infobox (or nested infoboxes) it will gap both at the same time. there is also the 'infobox renumber' button that removes gaps (so the opposite function). Minor updates

Good morning,

1. I think the changes at Template:Infobox company relating to |caption=, |image_caption=, and |logo_caption= are complete. That took many months for all the cases using caption to be found (at least I think it's done - there was a period where there were just a few more in the category daily and then suddenly there were 200 more one day. But I haven't seen any for a while, so I think you can fully remove |caption=. In addition to clearing up the ones where the caption was applied to the wrong image, there were many where caption was being used to display a slogan (which you know has been deprecated). Those are gone now, but of course we can't stop people from using logo_caption or image_caption for a slogan.

2. On the thumbfix script, can you add "static_image/static_image_caption" as another varient? That is the one I see most frequently that isn't handled.

Fb cl bot

I have been thinking about attempting automatic conversion of the fb cl template family to Module:Sports table and would like to hear what you think about it as you've been doing some conversions manually. What do you think the biggest issues will be? Trialpears, I have been doing about 300 per week using a script to do most of the work. the script is thousands of lines long, and still requires human eyes/input. there are several things that make this a difficult task to completely automate: (1) meaningful team abbreviations (attempts in the past have ignored this and just used ONE TWO THR or AAA BBB CCC which is suboptimal) (2) point notes (the last AWB attempt completely mangled most of these or missed them when they were outside of the table) (3) result notes (the last AWD attempt either mangled or ignored these, especially hard when they appear outside of the table) (4) use of <sup>...</sup> or <ref>...</ref> or * for point notes, but not using the point note parameters (5) for team season articles, the tables should be transcluded from the parent league season or competition article. my fb.js script shows just a fraction of the complexity. Also pinging @Plastikspork: I see we're now using OSM map locators for a lot of articles which often don't really show where the building is located in a city or region without having to click it and zoom out. I was wondering if it could be coded so that you can zoom out with the mouse without having to click it? User:Dr. Blofeld, note that it may be possible to dynamically adjust the zoom without leaving the article (similar to the radio buttons for the location maps) but that would require some additional coding and would probably increase the page source size (since you would be loading more than one map with different zoom levels). to make a more serious feature addition like that, you should probably ask at template talk:Infobox mapframe, which is what makes the maps. not dutch, but did study in Belgium, and love the fries. I have a question on this. I have never really liked these OSM maps by themselves and was wondering if they could be combined with location maps - i.e. display the OSM map (probably as default) as one the radio buttons along with other location maps. Biblioteca marciana

Hello, I noticed your notification that the Marciana template was being considered for deletion and then, after a few hours, a substantial change to the info box. I was hoping to have the time to discuss the issue and find a solution. I had actually considered using the Library template and the building template but neither would have been adequate. You've combined them which may be a step in the right direction, but some of the categories don't quite fit. "Other designers" is not appropriate for the artists involved. Also, it seems that the collection consists just of classics and Venetian history whereas these are specializations. The Marciana has a full range of books. Most importantly, the whole box is now so long that it pushes all of the images further down the page, and they no longer correspond to the relevant text. It would help if you could remove the map. Please let me know if you're spending too much time on this. The upper part looks great. Please don't alter it. If I understand correctly, the background shading is controlled by the template. So it is not possible to "pick and choose" which lines to highlight with background color. But in an earlier version you did, there was no gray anywhere, including in the lower (building) section. Is it still possible to remove all background color? 1990–91 Iraqi National League

Hi Frietjes, on the page 1990–91 Iraqi National League, the bottom three teams in the league table (Erbil, Al-Jaish, Al-Bahri) have their records listed as 0 matches, 0 wins, 0 draws, 0 losses etc. But in reality these teams each played 15 games (before withdrawing) and their matches were not annulled, they remained as part of the league table (although their W/D/L records are not known). So on the table it should be listed as 15 games played (not 0) and the other fields should just be blank because they are unknown. I don't think so. The flag file that it calls is at File:Flag of Chinese Taipei for Olympic games.svg. If it were at File:Flag of Chinese Taipei.svg, it would probably work, but I don't think there are redirects for Files. I could be wrong. In any event, this looks like a political thicket (China/Taiwan/Taipei) that makes me a bit nervous. Some of the tables have a(nother) different style though, such as 2010–2011 Israel Football League season with a division header, and columns for city and PF (points for) and PA (points against) which I assume are similar to GA/GF just using a different word. And 2017–2018 Israel Football League season, which has the PF/PA but no city or division header. Gonnym, for that first one you could use {{fb cl2 header|show_played=n|for_against_style=p|ranking_style=none|nodraw=y|grouptitle=City|title=North}} but you would need to swap the order of the team name and the city _or_ you could omit the |grouptitle=City and just merge the city name in parenthesis after the team name (the most common method). for the second one, {{fb cl2 header|show_played=n|for_against_style=p|ranking_style=none|nodraw=y}} should work. Infobox images

The infoboxes in Attic Greek, Doric Greek, and Ionic Greek have thumbnail images coming from {{Ancient Greek dialects}}. Do you have a fix for this? Normally if an infobox has two images, I just move one outside the infobox. But here it seems reasonable to keep both. The template needs to display thumbs when used outside an infobox also. Question about Infobox basketball biography

Hi - I was wondering if you might be able to tell if the width of this infobox had been reduced recently? In the last few weeks I have seen an increasing number of player articles which suddenly see to wrap to a second line (in fields such as “high school” where they did not previously. Also, some cases where “nowrap” is used which looked fine before but now seem to cause spacing issues. I am trying to figure out if this is a result of the infobox itself or if it is a function of seeing pages on different displays. Thanks for any help you can give! The one that prompted me to ask the question was Larry Miller (basketball player). I removed the “no wrap” but never noticed the spacing issues it was causing. Maybe the window size, zoom level, default font, default font size, or something else has changed. Try looking at the same pages from a different browser, or from the same browser while you are logged out of Wikipedia. Rikster2, I checked the old version of that article on a windows laptop with three difference browsers, and they all wrap the content slightly differently. the overall width of the infobox is set, but how much each column occupies is up to the browser. removing the nowrap is generally a good idea since it reduces the likelihood of having a the box stretched past the standard width. so, it could be changes in your browser that you are seeing, or there could be some other change that I am unaware of. While the {{Lebanon national football team results}} template works perfectly fine on PC view, on mobile it makes it so that pages such as Lebanon national football team results only display one word to the left of it, then the rest of the paragraph below it. Is there any way to put a screen width-based condition so that when the template is viewed on mobile, it becomes centered (and doesn't float on the right) so that the whole paragraph is on the bottom of it? Nehme1499, having content collapsed by default is not the best idea per MOS:COLLAPSE, so I would recommend changing wikitable sortable collapsible collapsed to wikitable sortable collapsible which makes collapsible an option, but not collapsed by default. Nehme1499, you can read MOS:COLLAPSE and decide. the key text is Collapsed or auto-collapsing cells or sections may be used with tables if it simply repeats information covered in the main text (or is purely supplementary, e.g. several past years of statistics in collapsed tables for comparison with a table of uncollapsed current stats). in my opinion, given the scope and length of the article, I would uncollapse them (the entire focus of the article is what is in the tables). Image size question

In an article like Pearland Town Center, I think the layout looks better if the one image under the infobox is the same width as the infobox. Do you know of a way to do this, without hard-coding image size in the image. MB 02:16, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MB, you could put them both in the infobox like this or you could use |upright= to scale the bottom image to something larger like this. unfortunately, you cannot set image widths in em units and the infobox is set to be 22em wide. you could also resize the infobox image to something larger in px units and then make the lower image the same px units to match. but, this would not respect someone's personal thumbsize. MB, there are basically two choices for sizing images: (1) use |upright=1.25 which makes the image 125% of the native thumb size, or (2) use a fixed size using px units for either the width (250px) or height (x175px) of the image. the only real exception to this is what we get from <gallery>...</gallery> with |mode=packed which can dynamically resize the images as you change the browser window size. so, to have the images the same size, they have to be using the same sizing method. the method used by {{infobox shopping mall}} is either the default thumb width (around 220px) or |image_width= which sets the size in px units. we could probably add |image_upright= to allow you to set the size of the image inside the infobox using "upright" scaling, but you would then need to use the same syntax for the image outside the box. finally, you could just put both the images in the infobox using {{multiple image}} with |border=infobox to get a frameless image array, but this doesn't seem to be your goal. by the way, it looks like the default frame width for the mapframe is around 270px, so you could use |image_width=270px if you want the mapframe to be the same size as the image (like this). I think that looks best. I do that sometimes with a small article and a single image under the infobox. But I usually guess at the size and "preview" and change the size and "preview" several times before I get them the same width. Even then, it's not permanent because the infobox width could change if say, a map is added, and they would be out of sync again. So ideally, it would be |image_width=same-as-infobox-width. Shipwreck lists by month

Please would you a) stop changing the TOCs of these lists, and b) restore all changed TOCs to their original calendar form?

Firstly, your changes result in a massive page stretch, even at 170% on my laptop. Secondly, your changes make it very hard to work out dates when researching additions. I think I've now reverted all changes to the ToCs of the various shipwreck lists by month. You really should have raised a discussion at WikiProject level where a mass change is made that affects many hundreds of lists. Especially where such change has unfortunate side effects as the page stretch encountered - Only up to 22nd of the month was showing, the rest was off the edge of the page. The calendar table format has been in the lists since the first monthly list was created. It works just fine as it is, is compact and easy to navigate. Help updating parameter

Hi Frietjes - could you help with the “Women's Basketball Hall of Fame” parameter on two infoboxes? It appears the target website has changed the format of their HOF pages (example). Rikster2, okay, it looks like all the new links match the pattern first-last (all lowercase) and the old links have mixed case, so a simple pattern match can find the bad links and put them in Category:Pages with incorrect WBHOF links. this tracking category will take some time to fill up. I have the code attempting to determine the linking page, but his autocorrect code is not going to be 100 percent accurate, so we will want to fix all the pages in Category:Pages with incorrect WBHOF links.Frietjes (talk) 18:54, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

1860 shipwrecks

I've split the List of shipwrecks in 1860, using {{Calendar ToC}} in all cases. Calendars are correct, but for some reason its created bluelinks to all dates, instead of only those which have entries. Can you please take a look and make any necessary corrections? Opera Composer templates

I thank you for your effort to clean-up old unused / redundant opera navigation templates. Just for your info and as mentioned in the TFD, back in 2006, we (Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera) started with composer navigation template (old format) but over the time, we changed the format and positioned them at the bottom of opera articles, instead of on top right like the old one. It was a lot of work and was done by various authors including me. Once the new templates were done, we replaced the old one. However, please also note that some old templates are still in-used, probably because the author of the new template did not remove them when they added the new one. That makes it redundant because now we have 2 navigation templates for opera list on the top right (old template) and the bottom (new template). For less noted composers with only few opera / composition works, some of them do not have the new navigation template - still using the old one.

Most of old templates are in Category:Operas by composer templates. I said most because some of the new templates (the horizontal) are also here.
However, almost all new templates are in Category:Opera navboxes

There are altogether more than 150 old composer's templates (out of 157) to be deleted in Category:Operas by composer templates. To save time, perhaps you can propose for mass deletion instead of one by one? For the past years, I have been receiving requests for deletion for old templates. @Smeat75: I merged your comments into this section. A quick look suggests you have a valid complaint but please take it easy and discuss the issue in a way that might lead to progress. Frietjes is a good editor who does a lot of very helpful work and they certainly are not doing anything that would qualify for what is known as vandalism here.
@Frietjes: As well as the TfD for many templates, I see a discussion at #Opera Composer templates above and another at WT:WikiProject Opera#60 old opera Navigation Templates for deletion in tFD. Has there been any other discussion? I looked at a couple of your recent mass deletions (for example Handel and Donizetti) and they seem unhelpful. Having redundant links might be irritating for some, but removing what serves as the infobox from many (hundreds?) of articles is going too far based on the weak discussions I linked. If you want to force the issue, I suggest withdrawing the TfD for now and starting an RfC about what should happen, starting with the two example diffs. Module issue

Hi Frietjes. Do you have any idea why the error message "Warning: Page using Template:Infobox election with unknown parameter "module" (this message is shown only in preview)." appears when editing articles like 2018 Republika Srpska general election (where one infobox is embedded in another)? The message only appears in preview mode and there doesn't actually seem to be any kind of error in the display of the infobox, so I can't work out what the error message is actually trying to say. Module:Sports table usage

Hi, thanks for your recent edit on User:McVahl/Template sandbox.

The objective of that sandbox is to convert Template:UAAPteam standings to use Module:Sports table.

I have some question about parameter usage for results and statuses.

In the converted template, I have these: 

|col_F  = green1 |text_F  = Advance to the Finals
|col_2x = green2 |text_2x = Twice-to-beat in the semifinals
|col_SF = blue1  |text_SF = Twice-to-win in the semifinals

However, result "F" isn't used at most cases. So I often see warning messages: orphaned results = text_F and orphaned results = col_F

Is there any way to hide these when not used?

User:McVahl, you could add |notracking=y but that would disable all tracking and warnings. I could probably make some changes so anything prefixed with IGNORE_ is ignored, but I don't know if that would easily fix your problem. Module:Chessboard

hi Frietjes.

i noticed your edit summary on your latest edit to this module ("should use templatestyles").

i happen to be the originator of this module, though i haven't done much with it for the last several years, and i doubt it resemble my original version.

however, i did do quite a lot of other stuff related to showing chess on wikipedia (both lua and JS), and i wanted to suggest that there should be a better and simpler way to do what this module does - a lot of it has to do, as your summary indicates, with the introduction of templatestyles.

the "idea", or the "right way" to do it is demonstrated in mw:Module:ChessBowserPrototype (credit for showing me the light to User:Fred Gandt). this is a prototype for a (hopefully) up and coming extension meant to show full chess games interactively. you can see the demo-of-the-prototype-of-the-extension in mw:User:קיפודנחש/test.

this prototype contains, as a subset, everything module chessboard "done the right way" needs, and will show the chessboard even when JS is disabled, or the required JS module is not loaded (naturally, not the "interactive game" part). the extension will use php, but the prototype is mainly lua+css.

the templatestyle CSS is mw:Template:ChessBrowserProto/styles.css).

if you are interested, i'll be happy to discuss the details. the bottom line is that doing it this way leads to a significantly simpler module, and generates shorted, sweeter, cheaper and nicer html (e.g., no "img" elements so no [[File:this]] and [[File:that]]. as a free bonus, "reverse" (showing board from black POV) boils down to adding a single class to the wrapper div.

bottom line: following up on your comment will be significant improvement to the module, and to the html it squirts out. i will be very happy to discuss the details, help, or, if asked, even do some or most of the work. let me know if you's like to continue this discussion.

Unfortunately I don't have anything useful to contribute beyond the scraps of code I wrote before, which are still available and free to use, abuse or ignore. My efforts to discuss how the implementation should be developed were dashed and the idea of getting involved again makes me feel bad. Since this has been used across most Volleyball tournaments, I was wondering if it would be possible to include automatic computation of the Sets Won and Sets Lost based on the Games won/lost.

findargdups bug report - typo introduced

Hello, please see this edit by findargdups for the introduction of one misspelling to replace another; in particular, the double initial caps in POlice was changed by the bot to Pllice, not a serious problem in and of itself, but puzzling, and which may be based on some underlying fault which could have more serious consequences under other circumstances. (The other change in that edit, removing a reduplicated accessdate param, was accurate.)

Finally, it isn't clear where you want to receive bug reports for the bot. May I suggest a new section == How to report bugs == on your subpage where you specify where, and perhaps how, you wish to receive notices such as this one? findargdups editing user space

Please see this edit that just happened on my user subpage where I'm developing an article. Not only should the script have not edited a template in my workspace, but it shouldn't remove "last=" from a template where there is also a "first=" left behind. A minor thing, but why is it editing citation templates in my user space? It happened a few days ago on another user subpage of mine, and I just thought somebody just erred. See the "bug report" section two sections above for an explanation. The script does not make edits. In this case, a human editor used the script to remove a duplicate, empty |last= parameter from the template that contained |last=US Government. If you look at the version before that helpful edit, you will see that "US Government" was not shown as an author in that citation, because the template contained a second |last= that was empty. – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:28, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

NPB Template Parameter help

Hi there, I know you've done a lot of work with sports templates and I believe you were the original creator of the roster template for NPB clubs. I'm trying to clean all this up now and I was hoping to add a "coaches" parameter so I can list the 1st and 2nd team coaches. Would you be able to adjust this at all? Template:NPB roster. I'm referring to the larger boxes that you can see at List of current Nippon Professional Baseball team rosters. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Module:Sports results

Hoi. Ik vroeg mij af jij mij misschien kan helpen. Ik heb namelijk een probleempje met de Nederlandse versie van de Module:Sports results (nl:Module:Sports results). Ik heb de deze Nederlandse versie een paar jaar geleden aangemaakt. Op dat moment bevatte de originele Engelse versie geen optie om opmerking toe te voegen aan de opgelijste wedstrijden. Die functionaliteit werd daar later toegevoegd en ik heb dan ook geprobeerd deze functionaliteit aan de Nederlandse versie toe te voegen. Dit is mij enigszins gelukt. De functionaliteit zit nu wel degelijk in de module en is goed bruikbaar. Alleen slaag ik er niet om de opmerking/notities correct te laten verschijnen in een artikel. Ik heb nl:Eerste klasse A 2016-17 (voetbal België) als testartikel gebruikt. Daar staat een grote tabel die die gegeneerd wordt door de module met een opmerking erin. Deze opmerking verschijnt echter niet onder de tabel op de voorbehouden plaats, zoals op de Engelse wiki, maar temidden van de referentielijst onderaan het artikel. Voor zover ik kan zien wordt dit nu veroorzaakt door een fout in de module zelf, maar door de werking van de referentie- of notitiesjablonen. Ik kan helaas echter niet vinden wat ik zou moeten aanpassen en hoe. Zou jij hier enige klaarheid in kunnen scheppen of hulp kunnen bieden?Tvx1 20:18, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tvx1, I think I fixed it. there were basically two problems: (1) in some places the module was using nl:sjabloon:efn and nl:sjabloon:notelist and in some places it was using nl:sjabloon:refn, and (2) the nl:sjabloon:efn and nl:sjabloon:notelist templates are not correct (or at least not consistent with the nl:template:refn template). I made some minor changes to nl:sjabloon:efn and nl:sjabloon:notelist, but my changes were not really correct. since you were the one who originally imported those templates, I would suggest re-importing them and translating the groups (e.g., 'lower-alpha' in template:efn should be 'kleine-letter' in nl:template:efn, etc.). since efn/notelist are only used on three pages right now, it should be pretty easy to make sure you don't break anything. Module:Sports rbr table

Hi, I'm from bnwiki. Could you tell me, in this Module:Sports rbr table which line give the final result for table? For example following line produce header number: 

			:wikitext(args['rnd' .. (r + (firstround - 1))]
				or (r + (firstround - 1)))

So, on bnwiki i did this. You can see here that because of that header is showing number in Bengali. I need to find that line which produce the number in the table, so i can add a convert digit module there. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 20:22, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

আফতাবুজ্জামান, on line 367 you should be able to change (legend_symbols[posrt] or posrt) to (legend_symbols[posrt] or convert('bn', tostring(posrt))) assuming that the convert function does nothing when the input isn't a number. I can give you another method if you need to make sure it's a number before sending it through the convert. I would leave the first posrt in the legend_symbols alone since that is going to generally be for non-numbers. Frietjes (talk) 20:34, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, it worked (yes, convert function won't do anything when the input isn't a number). As you found a problem with my edit, how can i fix that? I dont want to convert |rnd1= to |rnd১=. in that case, I would suggest using :wikitext(convert('bn', tostring(args['rnd' .. (r + (firstround - 1))] or (r + (firstround - 1))))) or in other words, pass everything that's being sent to wikitext to the convert function first. you can test if it worked by trying |rnd1=0 in preview mode (without saving :)). Sandbox

Nice for you to stop by at my sandbox. I have been trying to do the track listing for the soundtrack for the film of 7 Samurai, when I noticed that the French interwiki article already had it done, but with unusable French code instructions. I then started to transfer them one by one using a Korean film soundtrack from English Wikipedia as a template when you stopped by for your edit. This is moving at a snail's pace for me and maybe you have a better idea for "transferring" the French table into English Wikipedia source. The original French source code and the English soundtrack template are side by side in my sandbox now. Otherwise, I'll continue with the snail's pace approach for the 35 tracks. Template assistance

Hello Frietjes. Would it be possible for you to tweak {{Infobox legislative election}} to add an additional option for the ongoing parameter – if the response is "counting", it changes the "Current seats" heading to "Seats before"? Cheers, Number 57 12:23, 4 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox NBA season

I see that pages using misc and logo/logo_size cause separate subcategories in the bad parameters category for this template. Any reason that I shouldn't autowikibrowser all of those parameter away?Naraht (talk) 14:47, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Naraht, it looks like |misc= was removed by Bagumba in 2017 as WP:FANCRUFT. given that there have been no objections (as far as I can tell) for the past 8 years, it's probably fine to remove it from the articles. you could ask at WT:NBA and see if are any opinions there. I have not been able to find any version of the infobox that included logo (just the documentation including logo) so I would think that is definitely safe to remove.
