dpkg-buildpacke fails due to outdated 10smoke patch

on my Debian Etch system the current (rev. 15185) pugs fails to compile
when invoked with dpkg-buildpackage because the 10smoke patch can't be
applied. Full build log here:

If I remove debian/patches/ the build still fails with the following
message:

No such file or directory

(sorry, no full build log available for this one, and it takes more than
an hour for me to compile it :)
