The style of the Link Ad can also make a difference. You can try different styles to see whats getting the highest click-thrus. With Covert Context, its really easy to test because you can literally try new styles with a single click.


Next up, time to create your contextual Ads. Here's what this section looks like:

After you click 'Add New Contextual Ad', here's what loads up:

Just name your Ad, and then put in the keywords that you want to automatically link up in your content. Then, choose an Amazon category, your minimum and maximum price and whether you want to restrict this Ad to certain categories on your blog.

Its always a great idea to make your Ads as targeted as humanly possible, so having tightly grouped keywords and Amazon categories will help you boost conversions...as long as your content is also tightly themed to these keywords and categories.

For Price, I personally don't mess with selling anything less that $150 on Amazon, but it all depends on your content. I suggest theming your sites around higher priced products and categories to give yourself the best shot at monetizing. Trust me, I've tested a lot of different price points on Amazon.

When a visitor 'hovers over' the text Ad link, a pop over appears as you see in the screenshot above. Since that popover is so clean looking and relevant to your content, it doesn't even look like an Ad!

This is called 'native advertising' and its very effective because people aren't suspicious of these Ads. They look natural and are actually helpful for the visitor. Click-thrus and conversions are typically high for this form of advertising.

Alright, so now that you've seen what Covert Context can do, the real question is, what are biggest benefits of using it?

It would've been nice to have the ability to choose the exact product I want to display for a particular keyword. Right now, Covert Context decides automatically which products to show from Amazon based on the category you select.

If you don't have Wordpress, you won't be able to use this plugin. Its not compatible with other website or CMS software, so you gotta stick to Wordpress. Moreover, sometimes there's conflict between themes and plugins, so there's a small chance that you may need to update your theme.

Lastly, if you 'ain't got no traffic, there ain't no use in this plugin'. This is purely a monetization solution to help you make more money with your existing traffic, so if you don't have that much traffic to begin with, you'll need to work on that first. And lets say that you do have a lot of traffic but you're in the wrong niche or have bad content on your site, its not going to help you make any money.

Thats true, and depending on how targeted your traffic is and the niche, you may not even need that much traffic to make decent money.

What happens if an international visitor (who's country has an amazon site eg .co.uk) visits the site?

I am assuming that it takes them to the .com site

If so, are there plans to allow internationalize the application so that I can sign up to amazon in different countries and users will get directed to those countries ?

Does it have any of the following features or are they planned?

- Extend cookie on users computer

- Add to cart button, as an alternative to 'go to sales page' button

Dear Cventure, the plugin does support International Amazon Associate Programs, but it would be static...meaning that all the visitors on your site would be directed to the Amazon program that you've specified in your settings.

As for plans to add 'dynamic' functionality to redirect visitors, I'm not sure if they have this in the pipeline or not. Its a great feature to request though!

I was really excited to use this plugin, but unfortunately it does not work with Hybrid Connect (my email list builder) and they will not fix it because they "don't do customizations." They also advised me not to let anyone else change the code. So buyer beware, if it doesn't work, you're out of luck.

In certain cases, some themes & plugins do conflict with each other...although its rare. The plugin maker can't possibly customize their plugins each time someone approaches them with a conflict. In general, the less plugins you have installed and activated, the less issues you'll have.
