Discover the Truth on How to Really Know God in This Video

One of the most important things you can know about God is that He Truly Loves YOU! He indeed does have a great plan for your life. Here's a deeper look into what that means.

God's Love
"God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." See John 3:16.

God's Plan
[Christ speaking here] "I came that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly" [that it might be full and meaningful] See John 10:10.

QUESTION: So why is it then that most people don't experience an abundant and wonderful life?

ANSWER: Man is sinful, and separated from God. Because of this condition, it is impossible to experience God's love and plan for an individual's life.

Mankind is sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" See Romans 3:23. Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of man's stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way, and fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is an evidence of what the Bible calls "sin."

Man is Separated
"The wages of sin is death" [spiritual separation from God]. See Romans 6:23.

Picture it this way. There is a huge rock which we are all on. Across a bottomless open space there is another rock which God is on. There is absolutely no way for us to bridge that gap. Anyone trying to jump the gap will fall down into the abyss. Sin is the reason this bottomless abyss exists in the first place. Man sinned against God and by doing so has separated mankind from God.

Man is separated from a Holy God

This diagram illustrates that God is holy and man is sinful. A great gulf separates the two, as mentioned above. The arrows show how man is continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy, or religion, but he inevitably fails.

QUESTION: Now that we know there is this huge gap separating us from a Holy God, how can we possibly ever bridge that gap?

ANSWER: The Bible says that Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him, you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life. See John 14:6.

He Died in Our Place
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" See Romans 5:8.

He Rose From the Dead
"Christ died for our sins... He was buried... He was raised on the third day... according to the Scriptures... He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred people" See 1 Corinthians 15:3-6.

Jesus Christ is the Only Way to God
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me'." See John 14:6.

Jesus Christ is the Only Way to Holy God

The diagram illustrates that God has bridged the gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place, paying the penalty for our sins.

Now that you know the information just shared, you must now make a decision.

We must all, individually, RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

We Must Receive Christ
"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." See John 1:12.

We Receive Christ Through Faith
"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." See Ephesians 2:8-9.

When We Receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth
See John 3:1-8. In addition, 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation
[Christ speaking] "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him." See Revelation 3:20.

Receiving Christ into your life involves turning to God from your own self-will. Once we realize we are sinners separated from God, and that the only way to God is through His Son Jesus Christ, we choose to give Him our lives and follow Him. This act of recognizing our sin and making a decision to turn from it, and toward Christ, is called repentance. We repent, and believe. We turn away from our old thinking about God and Jesus, and toward the accurate understanding of who God is, and what Jesus did for us when He gave Himself on the cross for our sins.

We trust Christ with our eternal salvation. We indeed trust Christ to come into our lives, to forgive us of all of our sins, and to transform our lives into what He desires for us. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cros for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.

These two circles represent two kinds of lives:

Self-Directed Live vs. Christ-Directed Life

Which circle best describes your life?
Which circle would you like to have represent your life?

QUESTION: So how does one have a Christ-directed life?

ANSWER: You Can Make the Decision to Receive Christ
Right now, you can make the decision to receive Christ into your life by faith. This is done through praying to God, which is simply talking with Him. He is waiting for you to pray this prayer to Him.

God knows your heart, and He is not so concerned with the words you use as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer to Him you can say (pray) right now.

"Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite You Jesus to become the LORD of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

If you just prayed that prayer by faith, putting your trust and faith in Jesus Christ for eternity, then He has indeed come into your life. You have just made a decision that will revolutionize your life from this day forward! You have entered into a life of fulfillment and meaning, purpose and direction. Jesus has come and taken up residence in your heart, and He will never leave you or abandon you, NEVER! You will be with Him for eternity in heaven. Welcome to the family of God! You have just made the most important decision of your life. Congratulations!

What is your response?
