Pop duo Yazoo reunite for UK tour

Pop duo Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet are to reform as Yazoo for a UK tour.

The 1980s stars, famed for hits such as Only You and Don't Go, will play five gigs in June, visiting Glasgow, London, Manchester, Brighton and Wolverhampton.

Yazoo enjoyed chart success in 1982 and '83 before Clarke formed Erasure with Andy Bell and Moyet went solo.

"It's been really good going back to these songs after such a long while," Clarke said. "Many of them have never been played live."

He added: "I'm looking forward to performing them with Alison for all the fans who've enjoyed our music through the years but never had a chance to see Yazoo in concert."

The Reconnected Tour will see them perform material from their 1983 number one album You And Me Both, which has never been played live before.

The group, who formed in 1981 after Clarke left Depeche Mode, only released two albums before both artists went their separate ways.

"Playing this material live is not about revision for me," Moyet said. "It is about finishing something we started - writing, recording, performing.

"Three parts of a whole. A salmon cycle. It's like going home."

The tour is preceded by a four-disc box set, which will include remasters of their two albums and interviews with both stars. Tickets for the concerts will be available from 1 February.
